Global VP of Sales

We are seeking an exceptional and strategic sales leader to join our team as Global VP of Sales at Customer.io, overseeing all global sales markets across North America, Central America, South America, EMEA, and APAC regions. As the Global VP of Sales, you will be responsible for managing and scaling a high-performing sales organization, driving consistent revenue growth across diverse markets, and expanding our global customer base. Reporting directly to the CRO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company's sales vision and strategy on a worldwide scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the executive team to craft and execute a comprehensive global sales strategy for Customer.io’s offerings, ensuring alignment across all regions and markets to maximize new business ARR.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a team of sales executives, managers, and front-line leaders across multiple regions, fostering a high-performance culture focused on exceeding revenue and growth targets.
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies for North America, Central America, South America, EMEA, and APAC, ensuring alignment with local market conditions while maintaining adherence to global sales objectives.
  • Drive the global sales organization to master the end-to-end sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, ensuring a consistent, scalable, and efficient process that delivers exceptional customer experiences.
  • Forge strong internal relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including Marketing, Sales Development, Channel Sales, Customer Success, and C-level executives, to ensure cross-functional collaboration and strategic alignment.
  • Leverage insights from market trends, competitor analysis, and industry shifts to continually identify and seize new opportunities for growth in global markets.
  • Leverage the product-led growth and self-service model to complement the sales-led side of the business, ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach.
  • Optimize the balance between product-led growth and sales-driven strategies, ensuring seamless integration between the two models for a unified approach to revenue generation.
  • Continuously assess and improve global sales processes, tools, and systems to optimize efficiency, productivity, and scalability across diverse regions and teams.

  • Establish and maintain a robust feedback loop with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Marketing to ensure that customer needs and market insights are driving product development and innovation.
  • Deliver effective leadership through performance management, coaching, enablement, and feedback, ensuring that your global sales teams are consistently top performers.
  • Recruit, develop, and onboard new sales leaders and team members to scale the global sales organization as needed, ensuring strong alignment with company culture and objectives.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, partnerships, and alliances to drive Customer.io's global market presence and competitiveness.
  • Cultivate a customer-centric sales culture that prioritizes customer success, long-term partnerships, and overall satisfaction across all regions.
  • Provide hands-on leadership for large, strategic global deals, collaborating closely with sales leaders and account executives to develop and execute winning strategies.
  • Represent Customer.io’s brand and thought leadership by building relationships with industry influencers, partners, and global thought leaders, generating referrals and expanding the company’s reach.
  • Actively engage in global industry events, conferences, and speaking engagements to promote Customer.io’s expertise and leadership within the industry.
  • Collaborate with product teams to continuously provide market and customer feedback, driving product enhancements, feature development, and long-term innovation.

Requirements

  • You are located in the US.
  • Experience leading sales organizations, with executive-level roles (e.g., VP, SVP) in high-growth B2B SaaS companies.
  • Proven track record of scaling global sales teams and driving revenue growth in diverse international markets (North America, LATAM, EMEA, APAC).
  • Strong understanding of regional market dynamics, with experience tailoring sales strategies to local market conditions while maintaining global alignment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and negotiate effectively at all levels of an organization, from entry-level to C-suite.
  • A history of success selling into the Marketing vertical or adjacent industries, with a deep understanding of customer needs and market trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain world-class sales organizations, consistently delivering results in complex, competitive markets.
  • Growth mindset with a strategic and innovative approach to solving challenges, along with a high level of initiative, ownership, and accountability.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data to inform strategic decision-making and optimize global sales performance.
  • Ability to lead and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving global environment, driving results and adapting to changing market conditions.

Our mission at Customer.io is to power automated communication that people like to receive. Today over 5,300 internet businesses use Customer.io to manage, send, and track the performance of emails, SMS, push notifications, and in-app messages. Unlike typical marketing platforms, Customer.io helps businesses increase relevance by using behavioral data: what people do or don’t do when logged in to a web or mobile app.

We are offering on-target earnings (OTE) starting at $500,000 USD (or equivalent in local currency), dependent on experience and subject to market rate adjustment.
