About Customer.io

Over 7,500 companies — from scrappy startups to global brands — use our platform to send billions of emails, push notifications, in-app messages, and SMS every day. Customer.io powers automated communication that people actually want to receive. We help teams send smarter, more relevant messages using real-time behavioral data.

The Sr. Director of International Growth will be responsible for building and executing Customer.io’s international partner strategy, with an initial focus on LATAM and APAC. This is a foundational, builder role designed to establish new regions, scale through partners and distributors, and deliver measurable impact through both program KPIs and revenue quota attainment.

The role begins as an individual contributor, with accountability for designing strategy, engaging key partners, and driving regional pipeline and revenue. Over time, as markets and partnerships mature, this person will have the opportunity to build and manage an international Channel Account Manager (CAM) team to deepen coverage and scale growth.

This is a high-profile position that will work closely with senior leaders in Marketing, Customer Experience, Product, and Finance, ensuring international growth strategies are fully integrated into Customer.io’s global business priorities.

What we value

  • Builder Mindset: You thrive in uncharted territory, creating frameworks, processes, and programs from the ground up. You’re energized by solving complex problems with practical, scalable solutions.
  • International Expertise: You have a deep understanding of LATAM and APAC markets, and you know how to navigate cultural, regulatory, and business nuances to build lasting partnerships.
  • Relationship-First Approach: You excel at building trust with partners, colleagues, and cross-functional stakeholders. Executive-level influence comes naturally to you, and you prioritize collaboration over ego.
  • Strategic + Hands-On: You can think big while executing tactically. You are comfortable shifting between designing global strategy and rolling up your sleeves to drive deals or implement processes.
  • Revenue-Driven: You are obsessed with outcomes, measuring success through KPIs, pipeline contribution, and quota attainment.
  • Team Builder & Mentor: You are passionate about hiring, coaching, and developing talent, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
  • Adaptable & Curious: You embrace change, learn quickly, and thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments where no two days are the same.

What you’ll do

Strategy & Market Development

  • Develop the international growth strategy for LATAM and APAC, with a clear roadmap for market entry, partner recruitment, and revenue scaling.
  • Identify priority countries, industries, and partner types to align with Customer.io’s Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and Ideal Partner Profile (IPP).
  • Establish foundational playbooks for international expansion that can be scaled across additional regions.

Partner Ecosystem Growth

  • Recruit, onboard, and activate regional partners and distributors, leveraging their market expertise to accelerate adoption of Customer.io.
  • Build joint go-to-market plans with partners, including co-selling, co-marketing, and demand generation activities.
  • Define and operationalize the partner journey (onboarding → enablement → co-selling → revenue contribution).
  • Represent Customer.io externally with partners, building strong executive-level relationships.

Revenue Generation & Metrics

  • Drive partner-sourced and partner-influenced pipeline in LATAM and APAC, ensuring consistent progression to closed revenue.
  • Meet or exceed revenue quota targets tied to international partner growth.
  • Establish and track program KPIs to measure partner health, engagement, and ROI.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with Marketing to launch localized co-marketing and demand generation campaigns.
  • Partner with CX to ensure customer success through partner-delivered services.
  • Work with Product to prioritize regional integration requirements and localization needs.
  • Partner with Finance to build ROI models, reporting frameworks, and forecast contributions from international regions.

Team Building

  • Start as an individual contributor while laying program foundations.
  • Over time, hire and lead a team of international Channel Account Managers (CAMs) to expand coverage and scale partner impact.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance management for team members as the organization grows.

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years of experience in international business development, partnerships, or channel leadership.
  • 7+ years of people leadership experience
  • Proven track record (with the network to prove it) of building and scaling markets through partnerships in LATAM (required); APAC experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep existing relationships with key LATAM partners and distributors.
  • Experience in co-selling, co-marketing, and partner-led demand generation.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in both strategic planning and hands-on execution.
  • Experience setting and meeting revenue quotas and managing program-level KPIs.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Prior experience building or leading teams within a scaling environment.
  • Candidates with the ability to speak Spanish will be prioritized.

Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
