About Customer.io

Over 7,500 companies — from scrappy startups to global brands — use our platform to send billions of emails, push notifications, in-app messages, and SMS every day. Customer.io powers automated communication that people actually want to receive. We help teams send smarter, more relevant messages using real-time behavioral data.

At Customer.io, our Marketing Program Manager will be a senior member of the Brand Studio team, reporting directly to the Senior Director, Brand Studio. In this role, you’ll serve as the operational backbone of the Marketing organization—designing and scaling processes that keep programs, projects, and campaigns moving forward with clarity and impact. This position blends project management discipline with strategic program ownership, enabling creative, technical, and marketing talent to focus on their craft while you drive cross-functional coordination, visibility, and accountability.

As the connective tissue across Brand, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Customer Marketing, Content, PR, Communications, and Events, you’ll independently lead complex, cross-team initiatives. You will design and refine frameworks for prioritization, manage dependencies at scale, and anticipate organizational needs before they arise. Beyond execution, you’ll shape the operational model of how campaigns and programs run at Customer.io, ensuring every initiative is delivered smoothly, on time, and with measurable impact.

What we value

  • Proactivity: You don’t just execute—you anticipate organizational needs and design solutions that scale.
  • Clarity & Structure: You bring order to complexity and create frameworks others adopt.
  • Collaboration: You influence and align leaders across Brand, Demand Gen, PMM, Ops, and beyond.
  • Follow-Through: You drive programs from strategy through flawless delivery.
  • Curiosity: You experiment with tools (including AI) to push efficiency and innovation.
  • Respect for Creativity: You see process as an enabler of great work, not red tape.

What you’ll do

  • Own and evolve Brand Studio’s operational framework, setting standards for intake, prioritization, and resourcing across marketing.
  • Independently lead large, cross-functional campaign programs, aligning inputs, deliverables, timelines, and reporting across multiple marketing functions.
  • Own strategy and execution of repeatable marketing programs (swag, gifting, holiday, customer marketing), ensuring scalability and measurable impact.
  • Partner with the Events Manager to lead operational strategy and execution of flagship and field events.
  • Create and maintain reporting dashboards that provide visibility into capacity, performance, and outcomes for Marketing leadership.
  • Design and optimize workflows, service levels, and accountability structures that elevate cross-team collaboration.
  • Manage vendors, contractors, and freelancers to ensure seamless delivery of high-visibility programs.
  • Anticipate risks and resource gaps, propose solutions early, and influence prioritization at the leadership level.

What we're looking for

  • 6+ years of project or program management in marketing, creative, or agency environments, with proven ability to run complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Deep experience coordinating across multiple marketing functions (Brand, Demand Gen, PMM, Customer Marketing, Content, Comms, Events).
  • Skilled in program and project management tools (Asana, Notion, Linear, Google Workspace, Slack) and in building scalable reporting systems.
  • Recognized as a trusted communicator who drives alignment across executives, stakeholders, and teams without formal authority.
  • A program-minded operator who thrives on designing repeatable, scalable systems as much as delivering campaigns.
  • A problem-solver who thrives in ambiguity, brings order to complexity, and drives clarity across stakeholders.
  • A collaborator and influencer who strengthens partnerships across functions and fosters accountability.
  • A detail-oriented executor who ensures campaigns and programs land on time and at a high bar, while also pushing continuous improvement.
  • A team-first contributor who energizes others, embraces feedback, and builds an operational culture that enables creativity.

First 30, 60, 90 Days

30 Days

  • Learn Customer.io’s brand, marketing priorities, campaign programming, and operational workflows.
  • Build relationships with leaders across Brand, Demand Gen, PMM, Customer Marketing, Content, PR, Comms, and Events.
  • Assess current processes and identify early opportunities for improvement.

60 Days

  • Take ownership of Brand Studio’s intake, prioritization, and resourcing model.
  • Lead weekly project review meetings and report on program progress to Marketing leadership.
  • Begin managing high-visibility programs (swag, gifting, customer marketing) with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
  • Support event execution while shaping longer-term operational frameworks.

90 Days

  • Fully own the Brand Studio operational pipeline with minimal oversight.
  • Launch reporting dashboards to improve executive visibility into capacity, timelines, and campaign outcomes.
  • Propose and implement at least one process innovation that reduces friction or increases speed to market.
  • Become the go-to partner for marketing operations and campaign delivery across the organization.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
