The Company has experienced rapid growth over the past 3 years and recently received a strategic investment from Main Street Capital Corporation (NYSE: MAIN). In addition to our recent growth in Federal Civilian agencies, we are seeking to expand our capabilities in cloud development and footprint in national-security focused agencies within the Department of Defense and U.S. Intelligence Community.

CTEC develops and delivers innovative customer-centric technologies and solutions that facilitate the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).

Job Summary:

 Supports software applications and systems by investigating, designing, documenting, and implementing new hardware and software. Works with customers and end users to understand requirements, coordinate resources, monitor timelines, and plan, track, and execute project plans. Analyzes user requirements and evaluates work processes. Prepares concepts for information system solutions and evaluates the cost-effectiveness of these concepts.
Has broad expertise or unique knowledge and uses skills to develop technical objectives and principles to achieve goals creatively and effectively. Develops and/or implements advanced concepts, techniques, and standards based on professional principles and theories. Considered an expert in the field. Works on unusually significant, unique, or complex issues, providing highly creative solutions and where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Has an impact on the success of future concepts, products, or technologies. Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range targets. Assignments are often self-initiated and virtually self-supervisory. Provides technical direction and/or coordinates activities of other personnel. Uses independent judgment to determine the course of action to accomplish objectives. Uses wide latitude in the methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Ensure safety and security compliance, maintain required safety and security training, and integrate safety and security into every task.
2. Work collaboratively, providing leadership and mentorship for others.
3. Identify and address productivity impediments and promote work process improvements.
4. Devise logic procedures, flowcharts, and coding to design, develop, analyze, modify, test, debug, and evaluate software to meet functional requirements.
5. Design and implement data migration and system integration strategies.
6. Design and implement automation strategies to improve efficiency and quality.
7. Arrange, prepare, and conduct meetings, workshops, and presentations as required.
8. Provide training and support to end users.
9. Research, assemble, and/or evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes affecting information system policies or programs; recommend development, maintenance, and system standards changes.
10. Utilize formal Agile and Scrum project management methodologies; gather customer requirements; perform risk management functions; perform capacity and availability planning for computing infrastructure; communicate verbally and in writing at all levels.
11. Foster a mutually respectful and inclusive work environment without discrimination and harassment.

Skills & Work Experience:

• Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and at least twelve (12) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, post-graduate coursework may be expected.
• Expert knowledge and experience with modern software development methodologies, tools, and processes, including agile frameworks and techniques.
• Expert knowledge and experience with programming languages, database design, security strategies, and component integration.
• Expert knowledge and experience with automation and strategies for achieving DevSecOps.
• Expert knowledge of hardware and software integration and testing.
• Demonstrated a history of successful customer partnerships.
• Demonstrated history of fostering a teaming environment and providing effective leadership and mentorship for team members.
• Demonstrated history in driving process improvement.
• Ability to translate technical terms to layperson's terms and present them to non-technical audiences.
• Skill in working closely with customers and suppliers to define expectations and mutual responsibilities.

Preferred:
• Post-graduate coursework in a related field.
• Experience with large-scale, multi-user computer systems.
• Experience in developing programming specifications and investigating the feasibility of alternate program design approaches.
• Experience planning and executing complex programming actions to produce interrelated products from diverse data elements.
• Experience developing unique programs, such as critical path analysis programs, to assist in managing special projects.

Clearance: Active DOE-Q clearance required

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Work Location: In-person (This position is Hybrid, geared toward employees who regularly work both onsite and offsite, within a two-hour ground commute of Los Alamos)
