Our professionals advise clients where to stop spending, where to invest, and how to take what they are already doing and integrate it in a way that delivers improved security.

Successful candidates for CyberSheath are self-motivated, think out of the box, work, and solve issues independently. Confident, ‘doers’ who ‘get the job done’ and strive to ‘do the right thing, even when no-one is looking’ are the types of candidates who strive in our culture.  Additionally, our most successful team members are self-starters and willing to put on many hats to succeed. CyberSheath is fast-growing and seeks candidates who want to be part of our upward trajectory.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Software Developer to take full ownership of our existing Python/Django codebase. You will be empowered to make all critical technical decisions (including re-platforming or changing programming languages) but will be fully accountable for the performance, uptime, and security of the code you maintain and operate.

As a security-focused organization, secure application design and well-written, security-conscious code are paramount. While you’ll have significant autonomy, your projects will often be shaped by business priorities set by senior leadership—so you should be comfortable managing evolving requirements and shifting timelines. You’ll design, build, and maintain software solutions that integrate with multiple external APIs—from Microsoft, Twilio, and Duo to government data sources like USASpending.gov. You’ll also have opportunities to leverage Azure OpenAI Services to drive AI-focused initiatives.

If you’re a proactive problem-solver who loves figuring things out with minimal oversight—and can pivot quickly based on high-level strategic directives, all while keeping security top of mind—we want to talk to you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Full Ownership of the Codebase
  • Take complete responsibility for the existing Django/Python applications.
  • Architect, refactor, or even re-platform systems as you see fit, ensuring performance, uptime, and security.
  • Monitor and maintain operational health, promptly addressing issues to keep critical systems available and secure.
  • API Development & Integration
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality RESTful APIs using Python (Django REST Framework).
  • Integrate vendor APIs (Microsoft, Twilio, Duo) and public APIs (USASpending.gov) into our internal applications.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and optimize API consumption with security best practices in mind.
  • Full Stack Django Development
  • Implement new features and enhancements in our Django-based applications.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers and stakeholders on UI/UX requirements.
  • Write clear, tested, and efficient code following best practices, including secure coding principles.
  • Secure Application Design
  • Ensure all code and infrastructure adheres to industry-standard security protocols and internal security policies.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments, code reviews, and implement best-in-class security tools and methods.
  • Champion secure development practices across the team, providing guidance and training where needed.
  • Microsoft 365 & Azure OpenAI
  • Utilize basic knowledge of Office 365 administrative control planes (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Outlook) for integration and automation. Working experience with Azure Desired State Configuration (DSC).
  • Work with Azure OpenAI Services to design AI-centric features and solutions.
  • Stay current with AI trends and recommend potential use cases that align with security standards.
  • Business Alignment & Prioritization
  • Adapt quickly to shifting business priorities and strategic directives from senior leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand project goals, timelines, and constraints.
  • Ensure solutions align with overall business objectives and deliver secure, tangible value.
  • System Architecture & Optimization
  • Ensure application scalability, performance, and reliability without compromising security.
  • Analyze and optimize data flows to enhance efficiency and user experiences.
  • Collaborate with DevOps/SRE to manage deployment pipelines, environment configurations, and security controls.
  • Collaboration & Problem-Solving
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Proactively identify issues, provide recommendations, and implement secure solutions.
  • Exhibit an entrepreneurial mindset and a hands-on approach to “getting things done.”

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
