Intern - Clinical Operations

Cytokinetics is a late-stage, specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which cardiac muscle performance is compromised. This is a paid internship at our South San Francisco headquarters. The program is for approximately 12 weeks beginning in late May/early June.

Job Description:

This position will provide support in the planning and implementation of clinical studies including, but not limited to coordination of operational activities to ensure compliance with the protocol, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), government regulations, and overall clinical objectives. Daily activities will vary depending on the phase of the clinical study.

Responsibilities:

• Scheduling internal meetings and meetings with external collaborators
• Responsible for meeting minutes
• Reconcile the Trial Master File (TMF) for completeness and accuracy
• Compile appendices for a Clinical Study Report(s)
• Support research activities in Clinical Operations for Cardiovascular and Neuromuscular programs
• Perform other clerical duties, as assigned

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university as a rising senior or higher. 
• Effective oral and written communication skills. Able to communicate effectively with members of other departments and with study-site personnel (physicians, study coordinators, nurses, etc.) as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and able to learn other applications with appropriate training.
• Significant attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
