
Manager, Test & Validation Test
Purpose
Czinger Vehicles is seeking an experienced Test Team Manager to lead and oversee our vehicle validation team. This role is pivotal in managing the execution of vehicle test events, ensuring the team is well-equipped, and overseeing the performance of test engineers and technicians.
The Role
The Test Team Manager will focus on managing test events, ensuring resource and hardware availability, and coordinating test planning and execution through structured issue-tracking tools like JIRA. This position does require attendance at all test events, extensive travel is expected. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of vehicle systems, test processes, and data analysis, combined with strong leadership and organizational skills.
Test Event & Resource Management
- Oversee the planning, execution, and logistics of vehicle test events, ensuring test requests are properly managed and scheduled.
- Responsible for documentation of the test plan, data and pictures.
- Ensure the test team has the necessary resources—including hardware, tools, and software (e.g., computers, data loggers, and trackside equipment).
- Manage test event preparation, including vehicle readiness, equipment allocation, and personnel assignments.
- Manage budget for operational and capital investments.
- Support test event execution by ensuring efficient test procedures, while delegating hands-on tasks to technicians as needed.
Team Leadership & Administration
- Directly manage a team of engineers and technicians, overseeing their workload, schedules, and professional development.
- Handle team administration, including holiday bookings, hourly sheet submissions, and end-of-year performance reviews.
- Foster a high-performance culture, ensuring technicians are adequately trained and supported.
- Act as the primary liaison between technicians, engineers, and management to facilitate smooth test operations.
- Provide weekly updates to internal stakeholders on the progress and status of validation activities.
Technical Oversight & Process Management
- Ensure all test requests are properly documented, tracked, and scheduled, with clear prioritization and deadlines.
- Assist in test planning and execution strategies, ensuring tests are aligned with project milestones.
- Provide technical guidance on vehicle systems and assist in data review when required.
- Support issue investigations, root cause analysis, and resolution plans, ensuring necessary mitigations are in place before further testing.
- Develop and refine work instructions and best practices for vehicle servicing, rework, and validation testing.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving testing processes, methodologies, and equipment.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and incorporate best practices into the testing program.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing team.
- Support Czinger sprint activities.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in vehicle testing, automotive engineering, or R&D.
- Strong understanding of:
- Vehicle systems (powertrain, chassis, electronics, etc.)
- Data acquisition and analysis tools (e.g., CANalyzer, MATLAB, INCA)
- Extensive knowledge of high-performance hybrid cars or motor racing cars
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team. Can collaborate cross-functionally and with external partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience managing teams of engineers and technicians in a prior role.
- Experience with test procedures (durability, NVH, emissions, crash, etc.)
- Knowledge of Testing standards (ISO, SAE, FMVSS)

Pay Range
$142,900 - $196,500 USD
