
Director, Procurement
Purpose
Czinger Vehicles is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of Procurement to lead the procurement function across all current vehicle production and future product development programs. This individual will play a critical role in shaping Czinger’s supply chain strategy, building a world-class supplier base, and ensuring that all components and materials are sourced effectively, efficiently, and in alignment with engineering and production objectives.
You will be responsible for driving strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier relationship management, cost and quality control, and long-term procurement planning for both near-term manufacturing and long-range product roadmaps. This is a senior leadership position requiring both high-level strategic thinking and detailed execution capability in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
The Role
Procurement Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive global purchasing strategy aligned with corporate objectives, product roadmaps, and financial targets.
- Define long-term sourcing plans to support new vehicle programs, advanced technology integration, and Czinger’s unique manufacturing ecosystem.
- Drive best-in-class procurement practices, ensuring optimal pricing, lead times, inventory levels, and quality.
Supplier Identification, Selection & Qualification
- Identify and onboard best-in-class suppliers across key commodity areas including powertrain, chassis, body-in-white, suspension, interiors, advanced electronics, and raw materials (e.g., carbon fiber, aluminum).
- Evaluate supplier capabilities in terms of technology, scalability, quality, cost competitiveness, and delivery performance.
- Lead formal RFQ, RFP, and supplier selection processes for all major procurement categories.
Cross-Functional Alignment
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Finance, and Manufacturing teams to support all phases of vehicle development and production.
- Participate in product development milestones (e.g., concept freeze, design validation, production readiness), ensuring procurement timelines and cost targets are achieved.
- Support early supplier involvement in design phases to reduce costs and improve manufacturability.
Cost Control & Value Engineering
- Establish cost models and conduct total landed cost analyses to drive cost optimization across all components and systems.
- Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams on value engineering projects and make-buy decisions.
- Lead commercial negotiations and supplier contracts to achieve best pricing and terms while minimizing risk exposure.
Supply Chain Risk Management
- Develop and maintain proactive risk management plans for critical suppliers, including single-source risk, geopolitical concerns, and capacity constraints.
- Implement contingency planning and dual-sourcing strategies for critical components to ensure supply continuity.
- Manage supplier compliance with Czinger’s quality, ethics, and sustainability standards.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing procurement team capable of supporting Czinger’s growth and innovation goals.
- Establish clear goals, KPIs, and development plans for team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Basic Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field required.
Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing and procurement, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated success managing complex procurement activities in the automotive or high-performance vehicle industry.
- Deep understanding of vehicle architecture, manufacturing processes (including additive manufacturing), and tiered supply chains.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
- Data-driven decision-making, proficiency in cost modeling, and analytical forecasting.
- Technical fluency with mechanical and electrical systems, bill of materials (BOMs), and product lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex), supplier portals, and compliance tracking tools.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally at all organizational levels.
- Experience with startup or entrepreneurial environments is a strong plus.

Pay Range
$163,455 - $224,783 USD
