
Manager, Reliability (CZV)
Purpose
The Manager, Reliability (CZV) is the key advocate for build quality and success of Czinger’s products in the field. This person will build and lead a team of engineers responsible for ensuring Czinger’s revolutionary vehicles reliably meet all requirements with trusted performance on the road.
You will set the bar for vehicle and build reliability at Czinger, championing a reliability-first mindset and driving alignment between customer and regulatory needs, design definition, manufacturing and supply chain capability, and verification methods. You will operate cross-functionally, partnering with leadership and internal teams to refine and validate product quality deliverables, assessing and driving accountability for product readiness at critical program milestones, managing critical design and process risks, and leading structured problem-solving for failures and system issues. You will play a central role in embedding scalable processes that enable reliable outcomes across Czinger's products.
The Role
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing vehicle and build reliability engineering team:
- Set the vision and direction for reliability across Czinger’s programs, systems, and processes
- Develop internal standards, training, and feedback systems to embed reliability and risk management practices across Czinger
- Act as the primary reliability partner for all teams through each program phase:
- Ensure appropriate reliability involvement in design and change reviews
- Establish and continuously improve performance and reliability feedback loops to enable rapid and effective design evolution
- Assess overall vehicle readiness for key program milestones (e.g., start of production, customer hand-off, etc.)
- Maintain and lead Czinger’s risk and readiness framework:
- Lead identification and mitigation of product and process risks; drive cross-functional risk ownership and promote the use of structured tools (e.g. FMEA) where appropriate
- Prepare and lead risk and readiness reviews, communicating top risks and issues to executive stakeholders
- Ensure robust problem resolution for critical failures and systemic issues:
- Lead structured root cause investigations and containment/corrective action efforts for critical failures or systemic issues
- Lead cross-functional issue and nonconformance reviews to identify trends, uncover root causes, and drive continuous improvement through clear metrics and accountability
- Continuously refine and scale risk and problem resolution systems and practices to support growing production volumes and complexity
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience in design, systems, manufacturing, product reliability, test/validation, or quality engineering
- Experience solving complex, interdisciplinary problems in development and production using a disciplined problem-solving methodology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence across disciplines and levels of seniority
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience managing engineers
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence across disciplines and levels of seniority
- Proven ability to assess technical customer and regulatory requirements critically, identify risks, and advocate for robust and feasible solutions
- Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple program risk and issue landscapes concurrently, with attention to both technical and operational readiness
- Experience leading structured risk assessments (e.g., FMEA)
- Experience launching complex, high-performance products from concept to production
- Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies and failure analysis tools (e.g. Six Sigma, 8D, 5-whys, Fault Tree Analysis, fishbone, DOE)
- Background in one or more key vehicle domains, such as Powertrain (ICE or hybrid), composite body structures, chassis and suspension systems, vehicle software, or electrical systems
- Familiarity with automotive certification requirements
- Familiarity with Jira, SQL, PowerBI, and other data gathering / analysis tools
- Familiarity with NX/Teamcenter or similar CAD/design platforms
Work Environment
- Office and manufacturing floor environment
- Occasional travel to supplier sites, testing events, and other company facilities as required

Compensation
At Czinger, our pay range is based on the level of the job. For this role, we will consider candidates at levels Manager & Senior Manager as evaluated through our interview process.
- Manager: $128,610 - $176,850
- Senior Manager: $149,220 - $205,155
