As a SOC Shift Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth and effective operations within our Security Operations Center. Reporting directly to the Lead of Defensive Cyber Operations, you’ll be responsible for overseeing your shift’s performance, leading a talented team of analysts, and ensuring timely issue resolution. Your leadership will be critical in maintaining operational excellence and advancing the team’s overall capabilities.

What You’ll Get to Do:

Lead the Team: As a SOC Shift Lead, you’ll guide your team of analysts to ensure they follow SOPs, work instructions, and receive clarifying verbal direction from leadership. Your focus will be on task distribution, completing tickets, and managing the operational flow for your shift.

Maintain Operational Awareness: Keep a close eye on the health of key cyber tools and data feeds. You’ll notify stakeholders of any service degradation to ensure rapid recovery and minimize downtime.

Foster Growth: You’ll be a mentor, providing feedback and guidance to help analysts grow in their roles, improve performance, and ensure the continuous professional development of your team.

Ensure Smooth Shift Transitions: Conduct thorough shift turnovers, ensuring that key information is communicated clearly. Maintain and track shift activity logs and ensure all tasks are completed accurately before the end of your shift.

Manage Team Resources: Oversee staffing coverage, time-off requests, and ensure the shift is fully prepared for success.

Drive Continuous Improvement: Keep an eye on team dynamics, identify skill gaps, and collaborate to create training paths that empower your team to progress in their cybersecurity careers.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
- Experience: A Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Certifications: DoD 8140.01 and DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II and CSSP Analyst certifications.
- Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI Poly within six months.
- Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work 1 of 5 shifts as part of a dynamic and responsive team.
Nice to Have:
- Leadership Experience: Previous experience leading a team would be a plus!
- Advanced Certifications: IAT Level III certifications or similar qualifications.
- Expertise in Defensive Cyber Operations: A strong understanding of adversarial tactics and techniques as they apply to defensive cyber operations.

- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $100-110k. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
