We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with TS/SCI clearance to join our team and support critical intelligence work in Springfield, VA. Your expertise will directly contribute to safeguarding our nation’s most important operations and creating smarter, more efficient solutions for tomorrow.

What You’ll Do to Make an Impact:

In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of high-impact DevOps work, enabling our team to deliver secure, efficient, and innovative solutions. You will:

  • Automate and optimize deployments, making systems run faster and more smoothly.
  • Integrate enterprise-level authentication services, ensuring secure and seamless access across all systems.
  • Enhance system monitoring while ensuring robust security protocols are maintained in development, test, and production environments.
  • Build, test, and maintain custom Helm charts using GitLab and ArgoCD to manage deployments efficiently.
  • Create and manage OpenShift Operators, driving automation and simplifying complex workflows.
  • Optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitLab to build, scan, and deploy custom container images quickly and securely.
  • Apply configuration management best practices to ensure container software stays up-to-date with security patches and documentation.
  • Create hardened, FIPS-compliant container images using UBI9-minimal and UBI9-micro base images.
  • Maintain up-to-date design and configuration documentation, ensuring your team is always aligned and prepared.
  • Develop key metrics and dashboards that provide critical insights into service health and system performance.
  • Follow through on engineering tasks, ensuring all operational solutions are executed and meet our customer’s needs.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in DevOps or a related field, with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes (OpenShift experience preferred).
  • Experience building custom container images and platforms.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices and application/software development processes.
  • Proficiency with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, especially for building, scanning, and deploying custom container images.
  • Experience using Helm and GitOps tools (such as ArgoCD or Flux) to manage deployment and application states in Kubernetes.
  • Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar to automate build processes.
  • Solid understanding of the Operator Framework and how to deploy and manage operators.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to work independently.
  • Proven time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks unsupervised.
  • Experience with deploying to on-premise or data center infrastructure.
  • Comfortable using Jira and Confluence for agile project management and documentation.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility to obtain a CI polygraph.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience building custom operators with the operator-sdk.
  • Experience developing Kubernetes Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) or APIs.
  • Proficiency in Go programming language.

Location: On Customer Site in St. Louis, MO or Springfield, VA

  • Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $155-175k. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
