How You'll Make a Real Difference:

As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll be at the center of innovation and security, empowering our team to build systems that are both resilient and efficient. Your role will include:

  • Automating and optimizing the deployment of services to ensure smooth and seamless operations.
  • Integrating enterprise-level authentication services, ensuring both security and accessibility.
  • Enhancing system monitoring across development, test, and production environments, while adhering to security protocols.
  • Building, testing, and maintaining custom Helm charts using GitLab and ArgoCD to streamline deployments.
  • Creating and managing OpenShift Operators to automate and optimize platform management.
  • Improving existing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, designing complex templates and custom runners for efficient software delivery.
  • Applying configuration management practices to ensure container software stays up-to-date with security patches and best practices.
  • Building FIPS-compliant, hardened container images with UBI9-minimal and UBI9-micro base images.
  • Documenting configurations and designs to maintain continuity and ensure smooth team collaboration.
  • Developing key metrics and dashboards to monitor and improve service health and performance.
  • Collaborating across teams, following up on engineering tasks to ensure that operational solutions are fully executed and delivered.

What You Need to Succeed:

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in DevOps or related fields, with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes (OpenShift preferred).
  • Solid experience building custom container images and platforms.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and software/application development processes.
  • Proven track record of building GitLab CI/CD pipelines to build, scan, and deploy custom container images.
  • Experience with Helm and GitOps tools (such as ArgoCD or Flux) for managing application deployments within Kubernetes from GitLab.
  • Comfortable with scripting in languages like Python, Bash, or others to automate builds.
  • Familiarity with the Operator Framework and the deployment of custom operators.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to quickly troubleshoot and optimize systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Exceptional time management skills, with a proven ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Experience deploying on-premise or data center infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility to obtain a CI Polygraph.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience building custom operators using the operator-sdk.
  • Familiarity with developing Kubernetes Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) or APIs.
  • Go programming language experience is a plus.

  • Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $135k-155k. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
