Microsoft SharePoint & Web Application Engineer

In this role, you will play a key part in providing support, configuration, and troubleshooting for various SharePoint and web application environments, while leveraging your expertise in Microsoft 365 services and cutting-edge cloud technologies. You'll work on challenging problems and contribute to the optimization of systems that drive essential business functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Required:
- Take charge of second-level and third-level support for all facets of the SharePoint environment, ensuring operational efficiency. This includes troubleshooting SharePoint servers, Active Directory Federated Services, Office Online Services, and Workflow Management services.
- Manage troubleshooting for site collections, workflows, apps, and more—always maintaining a keen eye on improving system performance and user experience.
- Install, configure, and maintain SharePoint SE environments, including setting up new SharePoint Farm servers, configuring MinRole server roles, and handling service applications.
- Support data migrations from SharePoint 2019 to SharePoint SE, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal downtime.
- Develop and maintain clear documentation, best practices, and procedures that help the team scale and operate efficiently.
Desired:
- Support commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) web applications integrated with SQL backends, enhancing both SharePoint and customer-hosted applications.
- Troubleshoot customer-hosted web applications built on Microsoft IIS, maintaining operational excellence.
- Experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 services, helping the organization leverage modern tools and capabilities.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
Required:
- Manage and maintain multiple production and staging SharePoint 2019 and SE environments, ensuring uptime and performance.
- Configure service applications within SharePoint Central Administration.
- Regularly patch SharePoint systems with the latest Microsoft SharePoint Cumulative Updates (CU), ensuring systems stay secure and up to date.
- Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft ADFS and third-party identity provider integrations.
- Oversee system security, DISA STIG compliance, and Microsoft best practices.
- Support Tier 2/3 tickets related to SharePoint service issues, ensuring quick resolutions.
- Document governance, user knowledge bases (KBs), and system configurations for better system management.
Desired:
- Troubleshoot Microsoft IIS web applications and handle system performance issues.
- Experience managing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificates, including creation and replacement.
- Hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting enterprise COTS web applications using vendor documentation.
- Experience with Apache/Tomcat applications and certificate management via OpenSSL.
- Experience in Amazon AWS or C2S portal for hosted IaaS Microsoft servers.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 services like SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft Purview.
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience in SharePoint administration, with a focus on SharePoint 2016/2019/SE environments.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Expertise in managing and maintaining SharePoint environments (2016/2019/SE).
- Experience resolving SharePoint performance issues through troubleshooting and optimization techniques.
- Strong understanding of workflow management within the SharePoint environment, including SharePoint 2010/2013 workflows.
- Familiarity with Central Administration functions within SharePoint.
- Deep understanding of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online technologies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex information systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and end-users.
- A solid foundation in information security and systems administration to protect and optimize our platforms.

- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $160-200k.
