Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and Optimize Monitoring Systems: Use tools such as Microsoft System Center (Operations Manager), Riverbed SteelCentral (Aternity), vROps, Citrix Director, and others to monitor systems and applications for performance and stability.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Quickly identify system issues, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with team members to resolve incidents.
  • Provide Regular Reporting: Conduct daily operational checks and generate status reports and briefings to keep all stakeholders informed on system health.
  • Support Performance and Capacity Planning: Create and maintain metrics and capacity planning reports to optimize the environments you monitor.
  • Enhance Monitoring Systems: Support the deployment and decommissioning of monitoring agents, ensuring seamless integration of new technologies.
  • Documentation and Standardization: Maintain up-to-date documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures for monitoring processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify trends in performance gaps and proactively recommend improvements, driving key process enhancements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Required Experience:
    • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in the IT industry, including experience with Windows systems, Active Directory, Exchange, File Services, and Print Services.
    • Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification (or any DoD 8570 IAT Level II qualification).
  • Desired Experience:
    • Associates Degree in Information Systems or an IT-related field (preferred).
    • Hands-on experience with Windows and Unix/Linux systems administration.
    • Practical experience in system monitoring with tools like MS SCOM, vROps, Aternity, or similar platforms.
    • Experience with virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and desktop virtualization technologies (Citrix XenApp, Microsoft App-V).
    • Experience in IP voice and video services monitoring and support.

  • Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $135-155k. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
