Your Future Job

The Buyer is responsible for material planning, supplier management, and inventory coordination to support the department’s strategic goals. This role ensures the timely replenishment of raw materials, packaging, and essential supplies to maintain smooth manufacturing operations while optimizing inventory levels for efficiency.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with the supply chain and demand planning teams to manage inventory levels, ensuring balance between stockouts and overstocking to meet production needs
  • Monitor weekly production schedules to ensure timely replenishment and delivery of materials to warehouses and co-packers
  • Coordinate material transitions across teams, ensuring BOMs and related documents are updated across systems
  • Track material shipments, resolving any supply chain issues that could cause delays or impact product quality
  • Conduct routine inventory reviews and reconciliations, and coordinate shelf-life studies or disposal with internal and external parties
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent supply and favorable terms
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through negotiation, process improvements, or alternative suppliers
  • Support the Quality Assurance team to ensure all materials meet company standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support the Purchasing team in sourcing specialized materials or ingredients for new projects

Your Background

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Operations and three (3) years of related experience in sourcing or procurement role, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in consumer-packaged goods, preferably perishable food

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills in fast-paced environments
  • Sharp attention to detail and strong analytical skills, ideal for problem-solving
  • Proficient in Excel and ERP software
  • Works independently with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks under pressure
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Persuasive and able to influence at all levels of the organization

Compensation, Benefits & Perks

Daiya’s compensation offerings are based on a pay-for-performance philosophy. The pay range for this position is from $65,000 – 80,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Permanent team members may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
