​Accounts Receivable Associate​

SUMMARY 

The Accounts Receivable Associate plays a key role in supporting the AR Supervisor by ensuring timely receipt of payments for goods and services in accordance with the Company’s established payment terms. This position is responsible for accurately recording transactions, managing customer accounts and resolving discrepancies. 

This is a 14-month contract position, ideal for a junior to intermediate-level Accounts Receivable professional. The role is well-suited for someone looking to grow their experience in AR while contributing to a fast-paced finance team. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

Accurate and Timely Accounts Receivable Processing 

  • Issue invoices and credit notes, and prepare bank deposits 
  • Record payments received and internal credits or adjustments 
  • Maintain and update AR aging reports, contacting overdue accounts to secure payments 
  • Respond to customer inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and reconcile accounts efficiently 
  • Perform AR reconciliations and analyze customer payment history and deduction balances 
  • Complete month-end duties accurately and on time, including AR accruals 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Deduction Management & Cross-Functional Support 

  • Ownership of trade deductions on assigned accounts; manage and resolve trade and non-trade deductions, including investigating and disputing unauthorized deductions with Sales and Supply Chain 
  • Provide backup support by performing credit checks and managing full-cycle customer account setup, updates, and sub-account creation 
  • Assist with trade spending analysis and provide required documentation for audits 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE  

  • Undergraduate diploma or degree in Accounting/Finance (or demonstrable equivalent experience) 
  • 1–3 years of experience as an AR Associate, specifically processing full-cycle AR 
  • Experience in a Food Manufacturing environment is a strong asset 
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably Syspro) and company/retail portals 
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and collections regulations 

RELATED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES 

  • Experience performing AR functions with an understanding of accounting and maintaining general ledgers 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and entering financial information 
  • Able to handle high volume and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines 
  • Extremely well organized and detail-oriented 
  • Able to interact and communicate effectively with customers, internal departments, management, and third-party providers 
  • Strong willingness to learn and a solutions-oriented attitude 
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications including strong Excel skills, Outlook, Word, etc.

COMPENSATION, BENEFITS & PERKS

Daiya’s compensation offerings are based on a pay-for-performance philosophy. The pay range for this position is from $45,000–$50,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
