SUMMARY

The Production Operator is essential to meeting business goals by safely setting up and operating assigned machine lines. Responsibilities include supporting packaging machine changeovers and working collaboratively within a team to maintain quality standards and minimize waste.

Operators are expected to ensure all production activities comply with internal protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, SQF requirements, and WorkSafeBC regulations.

SHIFT TIME:

We are seeking to hire a Production Operator to support our day-to-day operations. This is a full-time role (40 hours per week), scheduled Monday - Friday, with the possibility of overtime based on business needs.

  • 07:15 AM - 03:45 PM

SALARY

  • $22.75/per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up, operate, and monitor machinery in accordance with production specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation, including line sheets, quality checks, and production reports.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), health and safety protocols, and cleaning routines to ensure equipment performance and workplace safety.
  • Conduct minor troubleshooting, perform film and label changes, and assist with equipment disassembly/reassembly as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets, communicate issues promptly, and ensure product quality and packaging standards are met.
  • Monitor for potential contamination or safety hazards and report concerns to the Supervisor.
  • Support waste reduction efforts and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
  • Flexibility to work in other production areas as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Operates production equipment safely and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Conducts continuous quality checks, ensuring compliance with specifications and accurate documentation
  • Applies strong math, problem-solving, and judgment skills across departments
  • Demonstrates knowledge of HACCP and other quality standards at assigned stations
  • Adapts to dynamic environments; works well independently and as part of a team
  • Maintains focus, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
  • Flexible to work weekends; dependable and safety-focused
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; packaging or manufacturing experience is an asset
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking)

RELATED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

  • Operates mobile equipment in a high-noise, cold, and wet/slippery environment
  • Frequently stands, walks, bends, stoops, crouches, and twists during machine operation
  • Requires use of hearing protection and steel toe footwear
  • Regularly lifts and carries up to 25 kg, including overhead lifting, for extended periods
  • Performs repetitive motions using fingers, wrists, and shoulders comfortably
