System Administrator Lead

Dark Wolf Solutions is seeking a System Administrator Lead to join our team. As the System Administrator Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, test, and operational environments, ensuring their stability, security, and optimal performance. You will leverage your expertise in cloud infrastructure and system administration to support mission-critical applications within a DoD setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the management, operation, and enhancement of the developmental test, and operational environments.
  • Plan, design, and implement commercial cloud infrastructures to support mission applications in a DoD setting.
  • Perform routine cloud-based system and database maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Manage the installation of software and hardware upgrades.
  • Maintain system performance, system configurations, and system security posture.
  • Recommend and implement system enhancements to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with security regulations and policies.
  • Collaborate with other team members to resolve technical issues and implement best practices.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Stay current with the latest technologies and trends in cloud computing and system administration.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior system administrators.

Qualifications:

  • Five (5) or more years of experience supporting the planning, designing, and implementing of commercial cloud infrastructures to support mission applications in a DoD setting.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience performing routine cloud-based system and database maintenance and troubleshooting, managing the installation of SW and HW upgrades, maintaining system performance, system configurations, and maintaining system security posture, and recommending enhancements.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience working with AWS cloud infrastructure supporting a government environment.
  • Must meet DoDI 8140.03 IT Privileged User qualification and compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies, particularly AWS.
  • Experience with system administration on Linux and Windows servers.
  • Experience with database administration (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • US Citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
The salary range for this position is estimated to be between $150,000.00 - $190,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical skillset.
