Implementation Specialist, Consent
The Opportunity:
DataGrail helps companies manage consumer privacy at scale. Our Consent product sits at the front door of that experience, embedded directly on customer websites and apps.
Supporting Consent deployments requires navigating a wide range of customer environments and technical setups. Our customers span from privacy-savvy engineering teams to non-technical marketers and privacy professionals who rely on clear guidance to get up and running.
As an Implementation Specialist, Consent reporting to the Director of Solutions Engineering, you’ll serve as the technical expert for banner deployment, script, cookie management, and consent configuration. You’ll own post-sale implementation support for our Consent customers, build the tools and playbooks that help our Customer Success team scale, and partner directly with customers when issues require hands-on technical expertise.
What You'll Do:
- Serve as the primary technical resource for DataGrail Consent implementations, providing guidance and owning issue resolution across triage, diagnosis, and troubleshooting in diverse customer environments and website architectures.
- Guide customers through mobile app consent implementations to maintain compliance across all owned digital properties.
- Partner with Customer Success to build structured troubleshooting playbooks and decision trees that empower non-technical team members to independently resolve common issues.
- Identify patterns in recurring implementation issues and build scalable solutions, such as diagnostic tooling, documentation, configuration templates to reduce issue frequency and resolution time.
- Join customer calls to provide technical expertise, translating complex web implementation issues into clear, actionable guidance for technical and non-technical audiences
- Maintain and improve technical documentation for Consent banner deployment, including guidance on tag managers, CSP configuration, SPA frameworks, and CMP integrations.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to surface recurring implementation pain points and advocate for features that reduce deployment friction
Within 90 Days You'll:
- Complete onboarding and develop a strong understanding of the DataGrail platform, APIs, and integration methods.
- Shadow customer onboarding and implementation calls to understand end-to-end delivery.
- Supported your first deployments of DataGrail's Consent Management product with both highly technical and less-savvy customers.
- Build working relationships with Account Managers and internal technical teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve early technical challenges with guidance from senior team members.
- Establish working relationships with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering partners.
Within 180 Days You'll:
- Serve as a primary technical resource for Consent implementations, independently troubleshooting and resolving complex deployment issues across a range of customer environments.
- Contribute to best practices, documentation, and repeatable frameworks for customer onboarding.
- Share structured feedback with Product and Engineering on common technical pain points.
- Evaluate and manage support tickets related to the Consent product.
Within 365 Days You'll:
- Be recognized as an internal expert on Consent deployments, advising on complex implementations and edge cases across web and mobile environments.
- Proactively identify and address systemic issues in the deployment process, partnering with Product and Engineering to reduce friction and improve the customer experience.
- Build scalable processes, documentation, and tools that significantly improve implementation speed and success rates.
- Expand your impact beyond Consent by contributing to broader Solutions Architecture initiatives and cross-product support.
- Mentor team members and elevate team knowledge through documentation, training, and shared best practices.
What You Bring
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting web development projects, web implementations, including tracking and site analytics, CSS editing and similar.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript with the ability to read, debug, and explain code behavior in a browser console — you don’t need to build applications, but you need to understand what’s happening in the DOM
- Experience with Google Tag Manager or another enterprise tag management platform
- Familiarity with consent management platforms (e.g., OneTrust, Cookiebot, Osano, or similar) either as an implementer or in a technical support capacity
- Experience with iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin and Java) apps
- Experience with creating technical documentation or building internal knowledge bases
- Customer-facing experience in a SaaS or agency environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort working independently in ambiguous environments and building structure where it doesn’t exist yet
Bonus Points
- Experience with Content Security Policy (CSP) configuration and common conflicts
- Familiarity with single-page application frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) and their impact on banner behavior
- Background in privacy tech or experience working at or with a CMP vendor
- Ability to support technical areas beyond consent, including troubleshooting integrations, working with APIs, and deploying containerized agents
