IT Systems Engineer
Description
DSA is seeking a TS/SCI cleared Systems Engineer to join our team in Charlottesville VA. The Systems Engineer will play a critical role in the modernization and administration of Army insider threat programs performing Army and national security missions. The Engineer will work with a small team to automate and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux based systems in AWS. This position will be ONSITE.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- DOD 8140 (8570) IAM or IAT Level II Certification
- At least five years of IT related experience.
- At least four years of experience working with Linux server administration
- Experience working with structured data (JSON/XML)
- Familiarity with relevant DOD security standards (ICS 500-27 & CNSSI 1253)
- Ability to develop and brief material in front of groups of 10+ people.
- Linux or Cloud environment certifications
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code
- Experience with NIST Risk management framework (RMF)
Desired Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience may be substituted for degree.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices
- Experience with scripting and task automation (python, PowerShell, Perl, etc.)
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services
- Familiarity with Apache NiFi
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and Automate RHEL and AL2 systems in AWS
- Perform modernization of an Army InT program
- Advise Army program development teams on ICS500-27 compliance requirements
- Analyze specialized user data and create reports on defects or recommended improvements
- Write, troubleshoot, and deploy AWS based systems utilizing Terraform.
- Perform STIG checklists and remediate any defects discovered.
- Perform analysis of audit data content and format to find defects with the data.
- Register data defects with required development teams and monitor resolution status of those defects.
- Maintain insider threat systems in a secure, compliant state
