The Data Engineering Manager at Datavant is a player-coach, an experienced leader, and an exceptional technical contributor. You will join the team with the autonomy and decision rights to immediately begin shaping our healthcare data ecosystem for our clients. Software Engineering Managers at Datavant lead complex initiatives and are the technical subject matter expert in all areas of software architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and support. You Will:

  • Increase your team’s capacity to ship – Mentor your team, match engineers to appropriate growth opportunities, and actively contribute to hiring for your team. Establish and continually improve development and team processes that yield maximum efficiency in day-to-day engineering operations.
  • Ship – Deliver on your team’s roadmap commitments.  Influence the roadmap to ensure it incorporates necessary technical investments and considers longer-term goals.
  • Lead – Actively collaborate with the team of your peers, keep your team focused and engaged, contribute to engineering-wide decisions on technical strategy, product strategy, and organizational strategy.
  • Coach - Provide just in time feedback, conduct 1:1s, annual reviews, and find continuous improvement opportunities. Consistently provide ongoing technical mentorship and general professional development for your team and other engineers.
  • Manage Vendor Relationships – Work cross-team with finance and other stakeholders to manage costs, contracts, and procurement of external products and services.

The range posted is for a given job title, which can include multiple levels. Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job.

The estimated total cash compensation range for this role is:

$170,000 - $210,000 USD

To ensure the safety of patients and staff, many of our clients require post-offer health screenings and proof and/or completion of various vaccinations such as the flu shot, Tdap, COVID-19, etc. Any requests to be exempted from these requirements will be reviewed by Datavant Human Resources and determined on a case-by-case basis.
