Communications & Marketing Associate
David Zwirner gallery seeks a Communications and Marketing Associate. The position is based in London and reports into the Director of Communications and Marketing.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of related experience in public relations or relevant marketing experience. Superior communication skills, the ability to work independently, manage time and meet deadlines, and the ability to work with multiple teams is required. As the position will work across our London and Paris galleries and programming, the ability to speak French would be a plus.
This is a full-time position, working 5 days a week, Monday-Friday, or Tuesday-Saturday, as preferred.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Press & Marketing
- Develop and execute strategic press campaigns across print, online, TV, and radio.
- Serve as the primary contact for media requests related to the gallery.
- Write and distribute press releases; compile press kits for exhibitions and art fairs for David Zwirner London (DZL) and David Zwirner Paris (DZP).
- Support on press previews and events as needed.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets.
- Partner with the NY comms teams to implement regional press campaigns and mailings for David Zwirner Books.
- Liaise with museum press offices and PR agencies to obtain press materials for third-party exhibitions and projects.
- Inform DZ staff and gallery artists of key published media placements in real-time.
- Keep track of forthcoming press features and ensure that hard copies are obtained when publications are available (with support from the Communications and Photography Intern).
- Work with design teams to create ads and marketing materials for exhibitions at DZL & DZP.
- Coordinate exhibition marketing efforts, including web pages, emails, and ad campaigns in partnership with the wider marketing team.
- Coordinate ad placements in select publications in tandem with NY and Paris colleagues.
- Support efforts to grow the gallery's email subscriber list with the wider marketing team.
- Oversee digital end-of-show exhibition packages for artists and estates.
- Co-manage the Communications & Photography Intern with the Photography Coordinator.
Press & Marketing Administration
- Monitor arts and general press on a daily basis.
- Maintain press contact lists, publication subscriptions, and log-in details.
- Summarize relevant articles for the bi-weekly internal press update.
- Save and file press clippings (with support from the C&P Intern).
- Maintain the press archive (with support from the C&P Intern).
- Submit monthly expenses for the DoC (with support from the C&P Intern).
- Liaise with the finance department to process invoices & share new vendor details for DZL suppliers.
Events
- Support in researching and securing venues and caterers for events.
- Assist in planning and executing private client events.
- Oversee DZL public events, including kids’ events, artist talks, book signings, press previews, and the annual press mixer.
- Collaborate with NY marketing colleagues on promotional efforts for public events.
- Arrange & develop VIP events and offers for media partners, prioritizing qualified lead-generation.
- Assist in designing and producing event invitations with an external designer.
