About the Opportunity
Events Intern
David Zwirner gallery seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented Events Intern to join its Marketing department. The position is based in New York and reports into Director of Events. This position will involve contact with artists, curators, collectors, and vendors; therefore, discretion, professionalism, and superb client-facing skills are essential.
Qualified candidates should be highly personable, organized, motivated, and responsible, with an interest in gaining experience in the daily operations of a contemporary art gallery.
What you’ll do:
- In concert with the Events team, perform research on possible event venues and maintain venue presentations and repositories.
- Support Private Client, In-gallery Events and select public events.
- Utilize internally developed CRM database to organize invitation and attendee guest lists and assist with data upkeep.
- Work with Marketing, Client Development, and Sales teams to manage client outreach and RSVPs for select events.
- Upload and organize historic event collateral in the internal asset management database.
- Occasionally assist with lifting and moving items, such as boxes of books or tables for events, weighing 10-20 lbs.
What we would like you to have:
- Related experience in event programming and/or client relations, with an interest in the NYC restaurants, hospitality, and entertainment industries.
- Excellent communication and data management is crucial.
The Winter/Spring internship runs from January through April. To ensure that our interns have a well-rounded and educational experience, we ask for a commitment of 4+ months, with a minimum of 3 full days per week in person. Hours are 10AM – 6PM, Monday through Friday, with additional hours for occasional evening events. All interns are paid NYC minimum wage of $17/hour. All candidates must be residents of NY, NJ, or CT. No lodging or commuting expenses will be provided.
