ABOUT THE ROLE 

As Daymark Health’s first part-time (hourly), board-certified Clinical Psychiatrist, you will have the opportunity to support our cancer care collaborative care model on the ground floor. In this role, you will work closely with our medical director, boarded in palliative care and medical oncology, our oncology-trained nurses and nurse practitioners, and our licensed clinical social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to provide expert psychiatric consultation and support in the treatment of patients with cancer who also present with mental health conditions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in psychopharmacology, behavioral interventions, and the collaborative care model for behavioral health within a multidisciplinary setting.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Conduct weekly systematic caseload review sessions with Daymark’s care managers and licensed providers
  • Provide evidence-based treatment recommendations for complex psychiatric cases in the context of cancer treatment
  • Offer direct patient evaluation when needed through video consultations
  • Guide medication management and treatment planning
  • Support Daymark’s licensed providers in delivering psychiatric care
  • Collaborate with oncology care teams, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and health partners, to provide holistic, patient-centered care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to program development and workflow optimization
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Participate in team meetings and case conferences as required

WE BELIVE YOU'LL BE SUCCESSFUL IF YOU ARE

  • Qualified. You have a Medical degree (MD or DO) with residency training in Psychiatry from an accredited institution and a board certification in Psychiatry.  You also have active medical licensure in the state(s) of RI, CT, MA or are eligible for those licenses. You also are DEA registered. 
  • Experienced. Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical psychology, preferably in a healthcare, oncology, or chronic disease management setting.
  • Team-oriented. You enjoy and are able to work effectively in a team-based environment. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfort with technology.  You’re proficient using electronic health records, email, zoom, and slack. 

IT WILL BE BENEFICIAL IF YOU HAVE

  • Experience working in collaborative care model, consultation-liaison psychiatry and care of patients receiving active treatment for cancer.
  • Prior work in value-based care or population health
  • Familiarity with population health management
  • Experience with telepsychiatry
