Senior Accountant

Tasks & Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare accurate and well-documented journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded, supporting efficient month-end and year-end accounting close processes. 
  • Perform complex reconciliations and in-depth analysis of various general ledger accounts, consistently meeting deadlines and resolving outstanding balancing issues. 
  • Process biweekly payroll through ADP, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with state laws, while performing reconciliations and maintaining supporting reports and documentation. 
  • Monitor outstanding invoices and support Commercial Project Managers in collection efforts, while preparing accounts receivable reports, analyzing data, and managing cash application processes. 
  • Contribute to the financial statement and overhead audit processes by preparing detailed audit schedules and promptly addressing auditor inquiries. 
  • Lead the preparation of supporting schedules and documentation for various tax filings filed by an outside parent company. 
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including generating monthly depreciation calculations and preparing associated accounting entries. 
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances to ensure accuracy and completeness. 
  • Assist in documenting standard operating procedures and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and timeliness. 
  • Support the FP&A team in preparing financial statements and analyses, including actual vs. forecast comparisons, while contributing to the annual budget process through collaboration and insights. 
  • Serve as a backup for the AP team with the ability to manage job-costed accounts payable workflows, vendor setup, invoice processing, payment approvals, and employee expense reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies and familiarity with travel and expense management tools. 
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative tasks as needed, including preparing ad-hoc reports. 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional experience. 
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, with prior experience in the professional services industry preferred.
  • Exceptional accuracy and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet tight deadlines. 
  • Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills. 
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of working independently and taking full ownership of projects. 
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and eager to learn and implement new processes, tools, and skills. 
  • Exhibits a solid work ethic characterized by punctuality, reliability, responsibility, diligence, integrity, respectfulness, and accountability. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (preferred) and the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word. 
  • Must be equipped to work remotely, with a dedicated workspace and reliable internet connectivity. 

 Physical Requirements: 

Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodations: 

  • Sitting, standing, walking or mobilizing (85-95%) 
  • Keyboarding (80-90%) 
  • Viewing computer monitor, tablet and cell phone screen requiring close vision (80-90%) 

 Working Conditions and Travel:   
 

Well-lighted, heated and air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.  Minimal overnight travel by land and air. 

Physical Requirements, with or without a reasonable accommodations: 

  • Ability to work at a computer workstation for periods up to 6 hours at a time 
  • Ability to speak on the telephone for a total of up to 3 hours per day 
  • Ability to sit for up to 3 hours without breaks at meetings 
  • Ability to walk and stand, or mobilize, for up to 4 hours without breaks at program site visits and meetings 

We offer an annual gross salary between $75,000 and $90,000 for full-time employment, depending on professional qualifications and experience.
