The opportunity:
We’re looking for an Account Director to join our growing team and help us drive the agency forward. You will take ownership of key client relationships, working closely with senior clients and the leadership team to deliver impactful, strategic campaigns that change the way healthcare is communicated.
As an Account Director, you’ll be an ambassador for both the client and the agency, providing leadership across your accounts while mentoring a team of Account Managers and Executives. Your role will involve managing complex projects, ensuring high-quality delivery, and nurturing client relationships that drive business growth.
You will be responsible for leading and inspiring a team while working strategically with clients to deliver campaigns that align with their objectives and achieve measurable results. Your expertise and vision will help elevate our agency’s creative output and maintain our reputation for exceptional work.
About you:
As an Account Director, you are an experienced and strategic thinker who thrives in a leadership role. You excel in managing client relationships, driving creative solutions, and leading high-performing teams. You are not just an account manager — you are a trusted advisor and a proactive problem solver, always striving to deliver results that exceed client expectations.
With a deep understanding of healthcare communications, you are able to lead integrated campaigns across multiple channels, from digital to print to experiential. You know how to navigate complex client needs, manage budgets, and lead teams with confidence, while maintaining a focus on creativity and quality.
You have a strong commercial mindset and an entrepreneurial spirit, always looking for ways to add value, optimize projects, and build long-term relationships. Most importantly, you’re a passionate advocate for creative work, leading by example and inspiring your team to do their best work every day.
What you’re gonna need to bring:
- You will have indepth experience in account management, with significant experience managing high-profile client accounts and leading creative campaigns.
- Proven success in managing large, multi-disciplinary teams and delivering integrated campaigns across digital, print, and experiential channels.
- Strong experience in healthcare communications or a related sector, with a deep understanding of the industry, its trends, and challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, delivering both creative and commercial outcomes.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and guide a team to deliver exceptional results.
- A strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver creative solutions that align with client needs.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple accounts and projects while keeping everything on track.
- Commercially astute, with the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and financial forecasts effectively.
What We’ll Need You to Do:
Client Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead and manage a portfolio of high-profile clients, acting as the strategic partner and trusted advisor.
- Work directly with senior clients to understand their business objectives, helping to shape and deliver campaigns that meet their needs and exceed expectations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships at senior levels, ensuring clients are well-informed, happy, and confident in our work.
- Lead strategic thinking and creative direction on accounts, setting the vision for the team and guiding the execution of multi-channel campaigns.
- Provide strategic consultancy and recommendations to clients, challenging them where necessary to achieve the best outcomes.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of Account Managers and Executives, ensuring they are supported, inspired, and continually growing professionally.
- Delegate and oversee key tasks, ensuring work is completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.
- Provide constructive feedback to team members, helping them improve and develop their skills while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Act as a point of escalation for the team, resolving issues quickly and effectively while maintaining positive client relationships.
Project & Financial Management:
- Take ownership of the financial management of key accounts, ensuring projects are completed within budget, scope, and timelines.
- Monitor the profitability of client accounts, identifying opportunities for growth and optimization.
- Oversee the preparation and management of budgets, timelines, and client forecasts, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
- Develop and deliver project plans, ensuring client requirements are met and the creative work is of the highest standard.
Business Growth & New Business Development:
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to expand existing client relationships, increasing revenue and growing accounts.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to prepare new business proposals, pitches, and presentations, driving the agency’s growth.
- Support the leadership team in setting and achieving business development goals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with senior leadership, creatives, strategists, and production teams to ensure seamless project delivery and high-quality results.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to source resources, tools, and materials needed to execute campaigns successfully.
- Lead client meetings, presenting creative concepts and strategic solutions, and working with clients to refine their vision and ensure alignment.
