We are seeking a highly motivated, strategic, and exceptionally organized Chief of Staff to partner directly with our CEO and play a pivotal role in achieving our ambitious mission.

About the Role:

The Chief of Staff will serve as a trusted thought partner and an extension of the CEO, driving operational excellence, strategic initiatives, and effective communication across the organization. This role requires a dynamic individual who can seamlessly navigate between high-level strategic planning and hands-on execution, ensuring the CEO's time is maximized and key priorities are advanced. The ideal candidate will be passionate about women's sports and possess a deep understanding of the commercial landscape, with a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

The role works out of the NY office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Responsibilities

Strategic Prioritization & Execution:

  • Support the CEO in defining and refining strategic priorities, translating vision into actionable plans.
  • Monitor the progress of key initiatives, identifying roadblocks and proactively proposing solutions.
  • Manage special projects on behalf of the CEO, often involving cross-functional teams and external partners. 
  • Conduct research and analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Operational Excellence & Efficiency:

  • Streamline internal processes and workflows to enhance organizational efficiency and productivity.
  • Prepare and synthesize critical information for the CEO, including reports, presentations, and briefing materials for internal and external meetings.
  • Manage the CEO's agenda, ensuring optimal allocation of time and focus on critical activities.
  • Act as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders seeking the CEO's input or attention.

Communication & Stakeholder Management:

  • Draft and edit internal and external communications on behalf of the CEO, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with company messaging.
  • Facilitate effective communication flow within the leadership team and across the organization.
  • Represent the CEO in internal and external meetings as needed, providing updates and gathering information.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, partners, and industry leaders.

External Engagement & Business Development Support:

  • Thoroughly prepare the CEO for all external meetings and industry events.
  • Proactively research and identify key stakeholders, understanding their latest work, company priorities, and potential synergies.
  • Brief the CEO on critical information for formal introductions and relationship-building, identifying strategic opportunities for business development and partnership.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on all external engagements to capitalize on potential opportunities.

Team & Culture:

  • Help foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance within the organization.
  • Support the CEO in preparing for board meetings, investor presentations, and key speaking engagements.
  • Act as a confidential sounding board for the CEO and a trusted resource for the leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in a chief of staff or similar role, ideally within the sports, entertainment, media, or high-growth startup sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with exceptional speed and efficiency in work processes, consistently delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable making high-stakes decisions with incomplete information, demonstrating sound judgment and a calculated risk-taking approach.
  • Possess and maintain a timely, informed, and educated point of view on the women's sports industry, including emerging trends, competitive landscape, and market opportunities.
  • Demonstrable passion for and knowledge of women's sports and the broader sports, media and marketing industry.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in productivity tools and software (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, project management software).
  • Ability to travel as required.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000. Salary is determined based on a wide range of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, job duties, and geographic location.
