What You’ll Do:

DeepIntent is looking for a Sr Systems - Network Engineer to join our team and take ownership of managing and maintaining our Linux-based systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Linux operating systems, strong problem-solving abilities, familiarity with the AWS ecosystem and Infrastructure as Code (IaaC), a foundational knowledge of network protocols, familiarity with routers and switches, and a proven track record of administering complex, mission-critical infrastructure.


• Manage and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat Enterprise Linux binary compatible distributions – Rocky
Linux, CentOS), ensuring their availability, performance, and security.
• Design, implement, and maintain system configurations, including server hardware, storage solutions.
• Monitor system and network performance, conduct regular system audits, and troubleshoot issues
proactively.
• Perform system software and application installations, upgrades and patching.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and
policies.
• Implement and manage L4/L7 Load Balancers.
• Implement security best practices, including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion
detection/prevention systems.
• Collaborating with multiple teams in maintaining their services, providing support and consulting
services.
• Scrutinizing the latest news on emerging vulnerabilities that could potentially impact our infrastructure
and services.
• Managing users, permissions, authentication, and troubleshooting for various services:
• Partner with development teams to provide infrastructure support for application deployment and
debugging efforts.
• Ensure robust data backup and recovery procedures are in place and regularly tested for effectiveness.
• Stay current with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements
and enhancements to the existing infrastructure.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support and incident response.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent
practical experience).
• Demonstrable experience as a Linux Administrator, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior capacity.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python, with a strong emphasis on automation.
• Solid understanding of network protocols, firewall configuration, and security best practices. 
• Experience with virtualization technologies and containerization.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS and GCP.
• Expertise in utilizing monitoring tools.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, Linux+, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are considered a plus.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools is advantageous.
• Familiarity with the Kubernetes ecosystem is a plus.
