Accounts Payable Specialist

What You’ll Do:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable Specialist to manage day-to-day accounts payable operations. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting the overall accounting function. The ideal candidate is organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The position is based in Pune, India and reports directly to the Controller based in the USA. 

• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring proper coding and approvals.
• Prepare and process weekly or monthly payment runs (ACH, wire, check).
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records and files.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Assist with payroll processing related assignments.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Support audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve inquiries.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables preferred).
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
