About Us
We are seeking a Director, Product Management to drive development and deployment of novel applications, leveraging Google’s generative AI models. This role focuses on rapidly developing new features, and working across partner teams to deliver solutions, and maximize impact for Google & top APAC customers. You will be instrumental in translating cutting-edge AI research into real-world products, and demonstrating the capabilities of latest-generation models. We are looking for a product manager with a strong track record of shipping AI-powered software. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to tackle challenging technical problems, driving both product and business impact.
The Role
This role requires a strong machine learning foundation, and a passion for building and iterating on software products. The Director, Product Management will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between AI products and the external world. They are responsible for ensuring that our AI products are not only technically sound, but also effectively communicated, brought to market, and adopted by partners, customers, and the wider market. This person will drive alignment with research & modeling teams, applied AI teams, and Google Cloud, to solve high-impact problems across industry verticals.
Key responsibilities:
As a Director, Product Management, you will:
- Deeply understand the AI landscape: Continuously analyze market trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies in the AI space. This includes identifying potential opportunities and threats for the company's AI products.
- Define target audiences: Clearly identify and segment target customers and markets for specific AI products. This involves understanding their needs, pain points, and how AI solutions can address them.
- Develop go-to-market strategies: Create comprehensive plans for launching new AI products or features, including positioning, messaging, and distribution channels.
- Be the voice of the customer: Gather and synthesize customer feedback, needs, and pain points to inform model development and improvement.
- Drive product adoption: Develop and implement strategies to encourage customer adoption and usage of AI products.
This may involve creating onboarding materials, tutorials, and support resources.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of professional experience or 13 years with an advanced degree.
- Strong understanding of AI: A solid grasp of AI concepts, technologies, and applications is essential to effectively communicate the value of AI products to customers and the market.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills: The ability to clearly and persuasively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences is critical.
- Market research and analysis: Proficiency in conducting market research, analyzing competitive landscapes, and identifying market opportunities.
- Customer focus: A strong customer-centric approach with a passion for understanding and addressing customer needs.
- Collaboration and leadership: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across the organization.
