This role is on the Post-Training & Alignment Technical Program Management (TPgM) team. We drive the operational design and execution for the post-training area, enabling teams to make rapid progress on our mission. The core focus is to ensure the Gemini models are harmless, helpful, and honest through close collaboration with research and product teams. A critical function of this role is to manage and ensure that all model launches are safe and compliant, working directly with Google Trust & Safety and Product Teams for secure downstream deployment.

The Role

  • This is an exciting, high-impact opportunity for an exceptional Technical Program Manager. You will be a key member of the go-to-market team, ensuring all GenAI product launches are safe and compliant. The role requires a highly organized individual who excels at managing complex stakeholder relationships and connecting teams across Google to drive successful outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the safe and compliant deployment of GenAI products, rapidly adjusting launch plans to ensure all evaluations and requirements are met. 
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering and Google Trust & Safety Teams to manage and organise GenAI Launches. 
  • Serve as the trusted program owner, clearly identifying dependencies, risks, and issues, and driving visibility and progress across all stakeholders for GenAI launches. 
  • Build consensus and influence outcomes across diverse teams and key stakeholders, ensuring strong alignment without relying on direct authority.
  • Quickly grasp complex technical concepts and translate them into actionable program strategies. 
  • Drive organizational efficiency by improving processes, streamlining execution, and implementing tooling improvements where applicable.
  • Navigate through ambiguity for complex, rapidly changing projects; adjust and adapt plans and strategies as project conditions change.

About You

In order to set you up for success as the AI Safety Launch TPgM at Google DeepMind,  we look for the following skills and experience: 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of leading large-scale product launches, preferably across multiple geographies and time zones.
  • Possess excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in fast-paced program execution and deliveries.
  • Good understanding of safety, factuality, instruction following and other alignment related topics in machine learning.
  • Must be fluent in English.

In addition, the following would be an advantage: 

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Strong understanding of ML/AI principles and their distinctions from traditional software development.

 

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $183,000 - $271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
