This strategic partnering role focuses on enabling the success of Google DeepMind in the APAC region, with a focus on our Bangalore site. You will collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement people-centric solutions. As a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, you will leverage your expertise in organizational development, talent management, and change management to influence key stakeholders and facilitate organizational change and transformation. You will be a self-starter, able to navigate the complexities of both Google DeepMind and the broader Google ecosystem, building strong relationships with leads and across the P&C community. You will play a critical role in shaping the overall people plan, cultivating a high-performing culture, and ensuring the organization has the talent and capabilities to achieve its goals

The Role
Leadership and management
- Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to team members, empowering them to excel in their roles and contribute to the team's success.
- Drive operational excellence within the team, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of P&C services and programs.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of P&C Partners (if applicable), fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Drive high performance and create a culture of continuous improvement, empowering leads and team members (if applicable) to excel in their roles and contribute to the organisation’s success
Strategic Partnership
- Establish and maintain trusted partnerships with senior leaders and stakeholders in the APAC region and beyond, providing strategic guidance and influence on people and organizational matters.
- Proactively identify and address emerging organizational needs, moving beyond addressing symptoms to diagnosing and solving for root causes.
- Shape and champion the people strategy for the business unit, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and delivering measurable impact.
- Collaborate purposefully with P&C centres of excellence to leverage their expertise across a variety of disciplines and design solutions to address people related challenges across the organisation.
- Cultivate and leverage strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including executives, P&C colleagues, PgMs, and business leaders.
- Proactively identify and address emerging organizational needs and challenges, providing innovative solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Shape and champion the people strategy for the business unit, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and delivering measurable impact.
Organizational Health & Culture
- Utilize data and insights to assess organizational health, identify trends, and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and well-being.
- Foster a thriving organizational culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and high performance.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment where employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their best work.
Organizational Design & Development and Change Management
- Lead the design and implementation of organizational design and development interventions, such as structural and process changes that support business agility and growth.
- Drive change management efforts, ensuring successful adoption of new initiatives by anticipating and navigating organizational change with expert guidance.
- Utilize a deep understanding of org development models to inform your recommendations and explain the 'why' behind your proposed solutions.
- Partner with leaders to anticipate and navigate organizational change, providing expert guidance and support to ensure smooth transitions.
Talent Management
- Develop and execute talent strategies that attract, develop, and retain top talent, ensuring a strong leadership pipeline for the future.
- Identify organizational talent gaps, evaluating the talent landscape to inform resourcing and development plans.
- Lead talent assessment and succession planning initiatives, identifying and developing high-potential employees for future.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, fostering a culture of belonging and creating an environment where all employees can thrive.
About You
In order to set you up for success as a P&C Partner at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience as a P&C Partner or similar role, ideally in a technology or research-driven environment, with a strong HR background.
- A self-starter with a track record of proactively identifying and solving complex organizational challenges.
- Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment law.
- Experience in organizational development, talent management, and change management.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Data-driven and analytical mindset, with the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate large, matrixed organizations, preferably with experience within Google.
In addition, the following would be an advantage:
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience working in the AI industry.
