In this role, you will work directly with clients to understand their business needs, solidify requirements, and become an expert with respect to their data. What You'll Be Doing:
- Taking direct ownership of mission critical data requirements in a fast paced, collaborative work environment
- Delivering technology solutions to clients across industries, such as Manufacturing & Distribution, Education & Government, Consumer & Industrial Products, and Life Sciences & Healthcare
- Working with clients to understand their current data landscape and advising on the strategy to align with their future-state data landscape
- Designing and developing custom solutions for clients using a variety of software and programming tools, including Definian’s proprietary software product (Applaud), Workday, SQL, PowerShell, Excel, and VBA
- Using quantitative methods to derive actionable insights, patterns, and outcomes from data
- Learning leading enterprise software products such as Oracle, SAP, and Workday
- Becoming a subject matter expert on our business products, processes and operations, and remaining up-to-date on industry news
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Workday Data Migrations required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Experience loading data to Workday using standard tools such as EIB and Customer Central.
- Deep, hands-on expertise in Workday data migrations across the full conversion lifecycle — extraction, transformation, mapping, loading, and reconciliation.
- Strong SQL proficiency including complex queries for data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and validation.
- Develop and maintain conversion mapping documents, data templates, and transformation logic aligned to client and project requirements.
- Participate in requirement gathering sessions, planning tasks and estimated delivery dates (project planning), and escalation management.
- Designing and developing custom solutions using multiple programming tools including SQL, Excel, VBA, and PowerShell.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and business objectives.
- Execute data quality checks and reconciliation activities to ensure loaded data meets validation criteria prior to go-live.
- Support cutover execution including mock migration runs and final data loads, escalating blockers to the Data Migration Manager as needed.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and procedures.
- Document data conversion methodologies, error logs, and reconciliation outcomes for reference and knowledge sharing.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including legacy IT experts, business SMEs, and Workday functional consultants to address data-related challenges.
- Strong analytical mindset and the ability to derive actionable insights from data.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
