About the Position:
In this role you will be helping Definitive Healthcare and its subsidiaries ensure compliance with all federal, state, and international tax regulations, managing tax planning initiatives, and supporting financial reporting for a publicly traded company. The Senior Tax Manager will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to managing tax risk and optimizing the company’s global tax position. You will be reporting to the VP of Tax and heavily involved in shaping the Tax Department’s tax accounting, compliance and processes, while supporting the business needs of a growing company. The Senior Tax Manager will be an Individual Contributor with some oversight of outside consultants.
What you'll do:
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax accounting under ASC 740, including but not limited to current and deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions and effective tax rate.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local income tax returns for the company's C corporation and related pass-through entity.
- Manage and monitor the tax implications of the Up-C structure, including the exchange of partnership interests, related tax basis adjustments and administration and compliance of Tax Receivable Agreement.
- Manage state apportionment including analyzing state apportionment data and research state apportionment rules to ensure compliance with state laws. Review state tax returns prepared by external advisors.
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls related to tax processes.
- Assist with tax planning efforts and other duties/special projects as assigned
- Manage and resolve tax notices independently.
- Partner with Accounting, Legal, Treasury, and FP&A teams to align tax strategies with business goals.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- CPA Certification Required.
- 8+ years of progressive tax experience, including public accounting and/or corporate tax in a publicly traded company.
- Experience with tax provision software (e.g., OneSource) and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite).
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax laws, ASC 740, and international tax principles and partnership taxation
- Strong knowledge of Multistate income tax apportionment and compliance.
- Experience with umbrella partnership corporation (UP-C) structure a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to anticipate, improvise, multi-task, prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced work environment
