Senior Director, Payer Marketing

The Senior Director, Payer Marketing is a strategic senior leader responsible for the development of branded and unbranded marketing materials and programs directed at payers and key channel partners, including Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), Specialty Pharmacies (SPs), and Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs). Reporting to the Vice President, Market Access, this role serves as the strategic bridge between Market Access, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Medical Affairs, and HEOR — translating clinical and economic evidence into compelling payer-facing content that drives optimal coverage, access, and reimbursement for DT-120 ODT. The Senior Director will work closely with the Field Market Access team to provide resources that frame and articulate the value of DT-120 ODT and understand the payer perspective on value, as well as the HEOR team to
define payer data and evidence needs, identify gaps in the existing evidence base, and develop strategies to address those gaps in support of formulary and access objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic development of branded and unbranded marketing materials for payers and channel partners including PBMs, Specialty Pharmacies, and GPOs Develop payer value propositions, formulary support tools, reimbursement guides, and channel-specific messaging frameworks
- Ensure all content is aligned with regulatory requirements, Medical/Legal/Regulatory review standards, and commercial objectives
- Collaborate extensively with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Commercial Marketing, Sales, Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure payer marketing strategy is integrated with the broader commercial plan
- Support payer account teams with customized tools and resources that reinforce coverage and access goals
- Partner closely with the HEOR team to define payer data and evidence requirements across all relevant customer segments. Identify gaps in the existing clinical and health economic evidence base and develop strategies to fill those gaps with targeted research, real-world evidence, and publication planning. Translate complex HEOR data into accessible, compelling payer-facing materials
- Lead relationships with external agencies and vendors responsible for payer marketing content production. Manage project timelines, budgets, and quality standards to ensure timely delivery of high-impact materials. Continuously evaluate vendor performance and optimize the agency model as the commercial organization scales
Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PharmD, or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with substantial responsibility in payer marketing, market access marketing, or managed care marketing
- Launch experience with a specialty or novel therapeutic strongly preferred
- Deep expertise in payer marketing strategy, including development of formulary support tools, reimbursement guides, and value proposition frameworks for commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid audiences
- Strong working knowledge of health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) and the ability to translate complex clinical and economic data into clear, compelling payer-facing content
- Proven ability to identify evidence gaps and develop strategic plans to address them through targeted research, real-world evidence generation, and publication planning
- Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-moving commercial environment, exceptional written and verbal communication skills and strong project management skills
- Strong proficiency with Medical/Legal/Regulatory (MLR) review processes and payer marketing content development required
- Travel required for internal commercial planning meetings, agency oversight, industry conferences, and payer customer engagement
The starting base pay range for this position is $260,000.00 - $295,189.00. Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.
