We are seeking a talented SRE/DevOps Engineer who is passionate about fostering a DevOps culture and eager to explore new technologies and ideas. This is an exciting time at Degreed as we transition more of our infrastructure and services to container-based technologies.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn, grow professionally, and contribute to a dynamic team while driving key projects, including the migration of services from Azure to GCP using container-based solutions. Your contributions will play a critical role in shaping the future of our platform infrastructure.

As a SRE/DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our learning platform. You will work closely with our development teams to ensure that our applications are deployed efficiently and securely. This position will partake in rotating support rosters.

Day in the Life

  • Lead the charge as we continue to containerize our applications and services
  • Migrating our infrastructure to code
  • Design, deploy, and maintain scalable networks
  • Build tools which encourage developers to take more ownership of their codebase
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gain understanding of new features, dependencies, and technical details
  • Deploy and configure new development tools and infrastructure
  • Work on ways to automate and improve the software delivery processes
  • Collaborate, educate, and empower other teams

Who You Are

  • Able to work autonomously and asynchronously
  • Experienced working remotely
  • Lifelong learner and passionate about discovering new things and taking on new challenges
  • Possess strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
  • 5+ years of supporting a high-scale Microsoft-Stack SaaS/Web Product in production
  • 5+ years of deploying, managing and scaling Cloud Platform Resources - Azure, GCP, or AWS experience (Azure strongly preferred)
  • Experience with containers and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Passionate about learning new things and taking on new challenges
  • Strong understanding of DevOps and Agile principles
  • Solution driven with ability to understand the big picture

Compensation

We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
Salary Range: Depends on skill-level and location of hire and hence is a broad range from $120K to $180K.
Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
