Operations Planning & Insights Associate

London, United Kingdom - Deliveroo

Our Global Structure

Deliveroo is now part of DoorDash, bringing together teams with even greater reach, scale, and ambition. Depending on your role, you may collaborate with teammates, systems, and leaders across DoorDash and Wolt. Together, we’re unlocking new possibilities as one global team.

About the Team

Our New Verticals business is transforming how customers access groceries, everyday essentials, and restaurant-quality food by operating dark stores, dark kitchens, and new retail models across multiple markets. Central Operations sits within Site Operations, bridging HQ functions such as Finance, Legal, Commercial, Product, FM, ET, and People with front-line site operations across Hop and Editions. The team owns the global strategy and planning, budgets, OKRs, and KPIs for the business, sets the cross-functional business review cadence, and oversees the cost card and budget reconciliation process that keeps markets accountable to plan. Within Central Operations, our mission in Operational Planning is to make every site a benchmark for operational excellence, driving performance and process efficiency through insight, cost discipline, and continuous improvement.

About the Role

As an Ops Planning & Insights Associate, you will be at the heart of Operational Planning for our global Site Operations. You will leverage data and analytics to deliver actionable insights that will shape our strategy across labour management, cost efficiency, and operational effectiveness. You will partner with stakeholders across Finance, Site Ops, Legal, Commercial, and other teams to drive planning, reporting, and budgeting processes.

This role is ideal for someone who combines analytical rigour with strong communication skills and a deep curiosity for how operational systems and incentives work.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Support operational strategy development through data analysis, modelling, and insight generation across all Site Operations markets and businesses (dark kitchens, dark stores, and other formats).
  • Support labour management initiatives by optimising workforce planning, productivity tracking, and labour-to-sales efficiency.
  • Monitor and report key operational cost lines, driving performance management and accountability across the global network.
  • Maintain dashboards and reports that make performance transparent, scalable, and actionable.
  • Act as point of contact to operations teams for queries related to labour.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and recommendations to stakeholders to support key decisions, trade-offs, and investment priorities.
  • Document and maintain the SOPs that underpin Operational Planning's processes.
  • Help drive a culture of data-driven decision-making, continuously improving the accuracy, accessibility, and impact of Site Operations data.

Requirements

  • Min. 2 years of experience in an analytical or strategy role, ideally in consulting, finance, or a high-growth environment.
  • Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets.
  • Understanding of economics, accounting and/or statistics is a strong plus.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, presentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate data into clear business recommendations.
  • High attention to detail, structured problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to improving processes.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, cross-functional environment.
  • Passionate about delivering measurable business impact.
  • London-based with a minimum of 3 days required in the office.
  • Travel to other markets may be required as part of this role.
