Job Description
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented business services professional to join our growing Central Operations Team. The Central Operations Team empowers our colleagues at DA with processes, tools, resources, and systems that enable them to do their best work, leading to greater impact on a broader scale.
As an Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in driving our mission forward, enabling significant social change and impacting lives on a global scale. Your role will involve collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on our priorities and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
People Related Needs
- Manage and support the onboarding process to ensure smooth integration of new employees into regional teams from a local perspective in partnership with the People Team.
- Coordinate with L&D team to execute centrally provided learning offer in an effective manner for the regional stakeholders.
- Support for employee engagement activities, regional leadership engagement, and overall morale-boosting routines.
- Help with visa-related tasks, liaising with People Operations to ensure compliance and smooth processing for international employees.
Regional Management/Operations
- Oversee the planning and management of regional routines, retreats, and special events. This includes support for leadership routines and integration into the regional framework.
- Strengthen cross-regional collaboration, exchange and adopt best practices for operational tasks.
- Management and analysis of internal and client survey data, in coordination with central team contacts.
- Manage supplier & vendor relationships and supporting procurement processes.
- General “point of contact” for regional operations within the regional team (answer questions or direct to appropriate resource)
- (As applicable) Support travel logistics and manage travel costs.
Finance and Business Systems Support
- Assist in ensuring the proper functioning of critical business systems. This involves providing operational support for seamless integration and issue resolution rather than direct training.
- Assist in budget preparation, tracking actuals against forecasts, and supporting project-specific budgets across all regions.
- Complete regional invoicing process
- Liaise with finance teams for invoice processing, timesheet compliance, and managing financial data and reporting.
Entity Operations and Compliance (where applicable):
- Co-Lead People policy execution and compliance related to entity operations from a local perspective in partnership with the People Operations team.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of legal entities, regulatory filings, and liaising with local authorities as necessary.
- Support with the setup and maintenance of legal entities, including local authority engagement and meeting regulatory requirements. This area includes both compliance and operational needs.
- Engage with third-party providers, such as accountants and lawyers, in partnership with the People Operations team when applicable.

Required Skills/Experiences:
- Educational background: A Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, administration, and/or similar fields is preferred. Requisite years of professional experience and/or apprenticeship pathways will also be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Professional experience: A minimum of 5-6 years prior professional experience within professional services, consulting, accounting, multinational corporations, or other business environments is required.
- English and French proficiency: Excellent verbal and written English and French capabilities are essential.
- Project management: Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects and handling competing priorities and tasks.
- Authorization + location requirements: Must be based in Senegal or Kenya
