Delivery Leader (LAC)
Overview: Join Delivery Associates as a Delivery Leader and support us deliver impact on the biggest issues facing society today - climate, education, health, innovation, and others - in partnership with governments, philanthropy, and non-profit partners in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Job Description
Delivery Associates work with leaders in the public sector and impact organizations to solve problems, build consensus and implement policies and programs that impact millions of people. We use a clear methodology to solve problems and help our partners deliver results. We’re successful in part because we master our approach and in part because we are empathetic, resourceful, level-headed, and dedicated to our clients and the people they serve
As a Delivery Leader, you’ll work hand-in-hand with our partners (in government, in philanthropy, and at multilateral and nonprofit organizations). You are comfortable building and leading direct client relationships, drafting materials based on client need and feedback from other DA team members, and being both proactive and reactive within a typical professional services client project context.
Delivery Associates is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We value the cultural and ethnic diversity of our team, and recognize the importance of having professionals with diverse trajectories.
Skill Sets.
We work closely in diverse, global teams, leaning on each other’s strengths. We don’t expect any one person to do all these things perfectly. Our Delivery Leaders should be able to:
- Ability to build capacity on data use for decision making: Support government partners to improve their data capacities and practices effectively.
- Build and lead relationships: Earn trust and influence among diverse stakeholders, especially in the public sector, philanthropy, or nonprofit world.
- Facilitate and coach: Run effective meetings and workshops that drive towards problem solving and consensus.
- Model and analyze data: Turn raw data into actionable insights and recommendations, whether through Excel or other platforms.
- Write and present clearly: Turn complex problems or insights into clear documents and well-structured slides; speak clearly and concisely in remote and in-person settings.
- Prioritize and manage projects: Bring clear structure and planning to day-to-day work and communication.
- Solve problems: Break down problems and identify root causes before developing hypotheses and solutions.
- Stay focused: Navigate complexity, especially in policy and program implementation, consistently steering large coalitions back to a single-minded focus on priority outcomes.
Mindsets.
We work well with people who are:
- Adaptable: Public sector work is dynamic. Our people are, too.
- Analytical: We identify, dissect, and solve complex problems, following the data and evidence.
- Accountable: We are a remote team. We work collaboratively but self-sufficiently; oversight is often minimal, while proactivity is essential.
- Driven: Our work is important, so it’s important we do it well.
- Collaborative: We are flexible, thoughtful and team players.
- Curious: We never stop learning from our clients, colleagues, and partners.
- Inclusive: We embrace all voices and backgrounds; it enriches our work.
Profile.
Many of our people have backgrounds in government, philanthropy, think tanks, policy research, and non-profits. Some come from startups and tech. Our Delivery Leaders generally have already 5-8 years in other organizations and often have experience with our major verticals: climate, education, health, government innovation. But we’ve done this long enough to know that what matters most is your skill set and your mindset. We are open to lots of backgrounds as long as you can show us you’re an analytical thinker, a clear communicator, a team player, and an avid learner.
Required Experience.
These are the basics.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent requisite experiences; Masters degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant, full time work experience in government, consulting, public policy, project management and/or impact measurement
- Business level proficiency in English; Portuguese and/or Spanish proficiency is highly desirable.
- Expertise in data analysis and facilitation of trainings and workshops to enhance capacity in impact measurement and evaluation
- Experience working in the standard business suite (analyzing data in spreadsheets, creating presentations, etc)
- Remote, with willingness to travel up to 25-40% and be accessible to an airport.
- Must be based in and have work authorization to work in Latin America and the Caribbean. Delivery Associates will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
- Availability to start as early as April 2025.
What we offer:
- Exposure to senior leaders in government, nonprofits, NGOs and other social impact organizations
- Opportunity to be part of a growing organization working on transformative projects around the world
- Competitive compensation and benefits
