Overview: We are seeking a Contracts Manager to support a global project, overseeing and managing subcontracts with data collection, academic, and delivery partners across six countries. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth execution of project agreements, compliance with legal and risk frameworks, and the effective management of contractual obligations, reporting, and invoicing.
Your role will involve overseeing the full contract lifecycle and managing contracts that enable successful project delivery. You will act as the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, collaborating with legal, risk, data, and compliance teams (including the client’s teams) to draft, negotiate, execute, and manage subcontracts, ensuring all obligations are met efficiently. By providing contract oversight, you will contribute to the seamless execution of high-priority initiatives.

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join our team and oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from negotiation and drafting to execution and compliance, of several partners. The contract manager will work full-time in a multinational project in public health, which aims to deliver outcomes in preventing childhood obesity by working jointly with local governments, the client, and partners on the ground to plan for delivery, monitor progress, and solve implementation challenges. This role is critical to ensuring that all contractual agreements align with company and client policies, regulations, and strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will be resilient, curious, have a strong attention to detail and have a deep understanding of contract law including contracts pertaining to personal data collection and management. It is also key that they ensure smooth collaboration and communication across all stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
- Contract Lifecycle Management – Oversee the full lifecycle of contracts, from drafting, negotiation, execution, and renewal to enforcement and close-out
- Compliance & Risk Mitigation – Ensure all contracts align with company and client policies, legal regulations, and industry best practices. This also includes identifying and mitigating potential risks
- Stakeholder Coordination – Work closely with internal teams, external partners, legal counsel, and the finance team to ensure smooth contract execution, serving as the primary point of contact for subcontracting partners on all issues of contract management.
- Contract Review & Negotiation – Analyze contractual terms, negotiate favorable conditions, and ensure all agreements reflect agreed objectives
- Financial tracking and oversight – manage contract invoicing process to ensure timely and accurate billing and payment in coordination with internal finance teams, and ensuring that subcontracted deliverables are signed off by the delivery teams ahead of payment processing. Track and report on overall financial obligations to all subcontracting partners.
- Tracking & Documentation – Maintain an organized contract management system to ensure easy tracking, retrieval, and version controls
- Dispute Resolution & Advisory – Provide legal guidance on contractual rights and obligations and support in resolving any contract-related issues
- Continuous Improvement – Establish best practices for contract management and work to streamline processes for efficiency

Required Skills/Experience:
- Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business administration, economics, or a related field. Extensive professional experience may be considered in place of formal education.
- Professional experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in contract management, legal advisory, procurement, or a related role, preferably in a multinational or multi-sector environment.
- Technical proficiency: Proficiency in contract management and legal compliance tools, financial analysis, risk assessment, and negotiation systems to ensure efficient contract execution and tracking.
- Contract management: Strong understanding of contract law, procurement processes, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation, with experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
- Stakeholder management: Ability to collaborate effectively across legal, finance, operations, and procurement teams, as well as with external partners and clients.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal and contractual terms into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders. Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
- Project management: Proven ability to manage multiple contracts across different projects, work in fast-paced, dynamic environments, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
- Remote work: Ability to work independently and proactively, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies.
- Negotiation & problem-solving: Skilled in negotiating contract terms, resolving disputes, and developing solutions that balance legal, financial, and operational needs.
- Attention to detail: Strong ability to analyse, track, and follow up on complex contractual documents, ensuring precision and compliance.
- Adaptability & cultural awareness: Experience working in global contract environments, with the ability to adapt to regional regulations, diverse client needs, and cultural differences in contract negotiations and execution.
