Administrative Associate

Democracy Forward seeks a highly collaborative Administrative Associate to join its team. The Administrative Associate will exhibit high standards, excellent communication skills, and have an ability to take initiative, and prioritize daily tasks. This role will work collaboratively across all teams and functions.   

Responsibilities

  • Schedule meetings and maintain calendars for all staff events
  • Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, faxes, mail and packages
  • Managing schedules for community spaces and planning for quarterly retreats
  • Monitoring and ordering inventory for office and breakroom supplies
  • Providing ad hoc support for items such as formatting documents, creating tracking systems for event registration and participation, creating google surveys
  • Providing office support in terms of regularly restocking printer pater, ensuring each workstation is equipped with a mouse and keyboard and monitor
  • Ensuring the office is in good condition and notifying the Operations Manager or clearing staff when issues need to be addressed
  • Ordering and assisting in the delivery of staff meals
  • Supporting physical packing and unpacking of boxes as needed and coordinating shipping of materials for events
  • Other job duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently, within a team, and under deadlines. 
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn skills
  • Highly motivated, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and see them through to completion. 
  • Organizational mindset and willingness to be flexible and support organizational priorities as they emerge.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge and experience in Google Platform
  • Must be based in the Washington, DC area and be available in Democracy Forward's Washington, DC offices multiple days a week.

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $65,000 commensurate with experience plus excellent benefits. Compensation is commensurate with experience. The position pays overtime which is sometimes necessary to meet needs.
