IT Specialist
Position Summary:
Democracy Forward is seeking an IT Specialist to join our Operations team. We’re looking for a tech-savvy, discreet, and highly adaptable IT professional to join our team in a hybrid role that combines traditional IT support with executive-level assistance. This is a hands-on position for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, can support both Apple and Windows ecosystems, and knows how to deliver white-glove service to senior leadership.
This position is Full-Time, On-Site / Off hours support and will work out of our Washington, DC office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide frontline IT support for MacOS, iOS, Windows PCs, and office technology (Wi-Fi, printers, AV, etc.).
- Manage hardware/software setup, troubleshooting, and user onboarding/offboarding.
- Deliver executive-level tech support—on-site and remote—for C-suite leadership and their devices.
- Act as a “body person” during events—handling AV, connectivity, tech logistics, and real-time troubleshooting.
- Support day-to-day tech needs in the office including conference rooms, collaboration tools (Zoom, Slack, Gmail, Google Docs, Sharepoint), and secure mobile setups.
Qualifications:
We recognize that strong candidates may not meet 100% of the qualifications listed. If you believe you can contribute meaningfully to our team, we encourage you to apply.
- 5+ years of hands-on IT experience in a cross-platform environment (Apple/PC/mobile).
- Proven experience supporting C-level executives or high-profile professionals.
- Solid knowledge of Identity Management, Google Admin, and modern endpoint management.
- Strong communication, discretion, and ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Availability for occasional after-hours or off-site events requiring tech support.
Preferred:
- Experience in professional services or event-based tech environments.
- Familiarity with AV setups, secure communications, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 commensurate with experience plus excellent benefits. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
