Attendance Clerk (Part Time)
Who You Are
- Somebody with prior experience in a school office or clerical setting (preferred).
- A strong verbal communicator with comfort communicating with families over the phone.
- A detail-oriented and technology savvy worker who has past experience with data entry.
- A bilingual (Spanish/English or other) speaker (preferred).
- Required: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and record daily student attendance in the school’s student information system.
- Ensure all teachers have submitted timely and complete attendance each morning.
- Call families of absent or tardy students each morning to confirm the reason for the absence or lateness.
- Process tardy students for entry to school as they come into the main office each morning, including giving students tardy passes and ensuring attendance is recorded.
- Document all outreach attempts and responses in the student database.
- Flag concerning attendance patterns (e.g., chronic absenteeism, repeated tardiness) for review by school leadership.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive family information.
Collaborate with the office team to ensure attendance records are complete and compliant with school policy. - Provide end-of-day and/or weekly attendance reports as needed.
Schedule & Pay
This is a part time position from 7am until 12 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday each week (with potential need for some flexibility around times). Pay is $17 / hour.
