Director, Content Marketing

Hybrid - San Francisco

About Density:

Density’s mission is to measure and improve our footprint on the world.

We help companies understand how their workplaces are used. We do that by observing behavior in the office through our highly accurate and always anonymous sensors. In other words: where are people actually spending their time? We translate that data into actionable, opinionated insights that help companies increase the financial and experiential performance of any workplace.

Today, we work with companies from Fortune 500s to high growth innovators in technology, financial services and healthcare, occupying more than a billion square feet worldwide. And we’re in it for the long game: what if we knew more, created better spaces, and could build cities that worked and felt better?

That’s where you come in...

The Opportunity:

We’re looking for an experienced content leader with a deep understanding of the value that content can drive and the strategic chops to accomplish those goals, who also likes to roll up their sleeves and write the words.

Someone with hands-on experience in developing content and content marketing strategies that further thought leadership as well as cold hard conversion, who’s as comfortable in brand as they are in demand.

Your mission: develop and deploy a world-class, multi-channel and multi-format content marketing strategy to build Density’s brand, engage new and existing customers, and drive pipeline.

You’ll author content that performs against a broad range of KPIs -- driving long term brand value as well as immediate conversion across our paid, owned and earned channels. Your goals will include increasing content engagement, site traffic and social followers, driving new sales leads, and building out our share of the conversation.

Based in San Francisco, you’ll be part of our Marketing team. You’ll work closely with teammates in Growth Marketing and Product Enablement as well as our CEO and other subject matter experts across the company. They will become your best sources as you conceptualize, research and deliver content assets that move the needle for Density.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and execute a content roadmap, based on buyer insights, SEO data, channel performance and your own experience and perspective on the measurable contribution that content can make to our business goals.
  • Apply intelligence, wit and heart to make our content something to look forward to, a moment of clarity in an industry that’s absorbed a tremendous amount of change. People should perk up when they hear from Density.
  • Work with Growth Marketing to ensure content development aligns with funnel-building objectives for each target segment.
  • Measure the impact of our content strategy as well as the performance of individual assets and, as you learn, refine your approach accordingly.
  • Own the distribution and promotion strategy for any content you create, in partnership with channel owners in Marketing.
  • Have end-to-end ownership over our blog, social media, long form content and webinars. You’ll contribute thinking and content to other channels like PR, live events and speaking opps.
  • Execute. You know how to manage projects, multiple stakeholders and competing priorities to get the most impactful work done.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Curiosity. You’re excited to learn about complex problems in a complex industry, and to distill complexity to the frequency of your audience.
  • BA or equivalent degree, preferably in communications, journalism or related area of expertise.
  • 10+ years of experience in content marketing, editorial or marketing communications at a B2B technology company.
  • Deep understanding of content marketing strategies informed both by data and instincts, with a track record of driving engagement that results in demand generation and pipeline creation.
  • Working knowledge of design and editorial principles for both traditional and digital-first content. You know how to leverage social, web, mobile, and streaming formats for the greatest impacts.
  • A desire to roll up your sleeves and make stuff.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
