Data Engineer
Data Engineer Position Summary
The Data Engineer creates data pipelines, both batch and real-time, for data platforms in support of analytical and AI/ML infrastructure. The position collaborates with various teams to solution and operationalize analytics and data science with data ingestion, transformation, and MLOps on modern data clouds. It requires the ability to work well with others, excellent technical acumen, strong written communication skills, and an eagerness to learn and provide feedback on how to continuously improve the data infrastructure.
What You’ll Be Doing As Our Data Engineer
Data Pipeline Management:
- Identify, gather, and assess data pipeline requirements.
- Develop batch and streaming data pipelines in support of data platforms and analytics.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to pipeline failures or breakage.
ETL Development:
- Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the ETL process.
Data Observability and Documentation:
- Contribute to the observability of data operations.
- Contribute to the repository of technical metadata that helps power self-service analytics.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Develop and maintain strong professional and collaborative relationships with DBAs, BI Engineers/Analysts, and other data professionals.
- Think critically and architecturally in terms of data engineering, data platforms, data operations, and MLOps.
Data Security & Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality in working with sensitive data/information from both internal/external sources.
- Comply with all Federal, State, accreditation and institutional policies and procedures.

What You’ll Bring To The Team As Our Data Engineer
- 3+ years of experience developing pipelines in a Microsoft environment with tools such as Databricks, Azure and other Microsoft Fabric tools. Familiarity with other similar tools including Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services.
- 3+ years of experience in software development and/or data engineering with Java, Python, and SQL.
- Strong engineering and software development background.
- Familiarity with data lakes, data lakehouses, the modern data stack, and tools in a Microsoft environment.
- Proven implementation of data pipelines in prior work.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Database modeling experience and SQL skills. - Thought leadership on modern data and development concepts such as data lakehouse, data mesh, and DevSecOps.
- Prior knowledge/experience working with healthcare analytics.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced proficiency in all MS Office applications and use of the internet.
- Ability to successfully multitask with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of technical and procedural aspects and functions.
Pay range $125,000 - $145,000/annually DOE.
