
Director of Security

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for coordinating, with the VP of Security, the overall security of Denver Broncos Team, LLC’s, a Delaware limited liability company (“Broncos”), players, coaches, football staff, executive staff, ownership, and associated building facilities located at Broncos Park Powered by CommonSpirit Training Center (the “Training Center”). Furthermore, the Director of Security will interact and coordinate directly with Security at Stadium Management Company, LLC, a Colorado limited liability company associated with the Broncos (“SMC”) (combined with the Broncos, the “Team”), and operations at Empower Field at Mile High (the “Stadium”) wherein the Broncos play games, practice, and host events occurring at the Stadium. In the Employee's position as Director of Security, the Employee shall report directly to the VP of Security. The Employee shall devote Employee’s full business time and energies to the affairs of the Broncos, shall use Employee’s best efforts, skills, and abilities to promote the Broncos’ best interests, and shall perform such reasonable duties as may be assigned to Employee by the VP of Security, which duties shall include, without limitation, the following:
DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:
- First line supervisor for Broncos’ Security Staff, scheduling year-round security staff work shifts for facility security as well as gameday scheduling for both home and away games, and player appearances in the community.
- Assist in the planning, directing, and coordinating of security activities, coordinating with the VP of Security relating to the protection, safeguarding, and security of all employees of the Broncos, their invitees and Team assets. The Director of Security will interact and coordinate directly with SMC Security for Broncos games, practices, and coordinated events occurring at the Stadium and the Training Center.
- Coordinate with the VP of Security for the design, implementation, and monitoring of security policies, procedures, and programs for the Team.
- Coordinate with the VP of Security the planning, examination, analysis, evaluation, and supervision of the Broncos security operations; assist the VP of Security in the preparation of reports and records for the Broncos’ management team, evaluate current procedures, practices and precedents for accompli
- Serve with the VP of Security as the Broncos’ liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement and other agencies as it relates to security at the Broncos’ places of business and/or the Broncos’ personnel.
- Perform, arrange, and supervise security protection for the Broncos’ players, coaches, and football staff, executives, and ownership, and the building facilities located at the Training Center, and during Broncos’ personnel’s travel on company business.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- The Director of Security is required to be retired law enforcement, federal, state, or local law enforcement agency as a special agent or previous peace officer, preferably with extensive supervisory or managerial experience.
- Director of Security must have a minimum of ten years of Law Enforcement experience and a valid HR218 concealed carry permit (or eligible to obtain HR218 by meeting all legal requirements) under the Law Enforcement Officer’s Safety Act (LEOSA certified).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work in various environmental conditions including inclement weather and large crowds.
- Must maintain physical fitness and agility to perform protective duties including executive and ownership protection.
- Must be able to respond quickly to emergency situations, including running, climbing stairs, and navigating crowds.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods during game days and events.
PREFFERED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- The Director of Security must have strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a broad and diverse range of personnel and maintain strong working relationships with various local, state, and federal law enforcement entities.
- The Director of Security must have the ability to work flexible/long hours (e.g., early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays).
- The Director of Security is required to travel by vehicle, bus, and aircraft on official Denver Broncos business and to other NFL-related destinations.
- The Director of Security must be proficient in the use of computers and current security technologies, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, as well as other security-specific operating systems.
- The Director of Security must have innate problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to thrive in pressure situations.
- The Director of Security is required to have previous law enforcement work experience in a special operations group, i.e., tactical/emergency response team, dignitary protection, or training instructor.
- Prior experience in NFL, MLB, NHL, or NBA sports entertainment security work preferred.
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary for this role is $145,000 - $160,000.
