JOB PURPOSE
We're seeking a dynamic Technical Product Manager to drive growth and innovation for an internal product that will be leveraged to deliver a significant majority of DEPT®’s client work.
As a Technical Product Manager, you'll spearhead strategic growth and technical excellence. You'll blend deep technical expertise with product management mastery to proactively identify opportunities, develop innovative solutions, and elevate our technical positioning.
You'll own and drive software services and platforms, drive pipeline growth, increase proposal velocity, and ensure technical integrity across engagements. You'll bridge technical, creative, and business teams, ensuring seamless collaboration.
The product you will be working on is an essential component of the day-to-day of Paid Media & Marketing teams workflows. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of paid media and digital marketing campaign development (or has experience working in digital marketing environments) alongside extensive experience in product development. Experience in developing workflow engines would also be an asset, but is not a definite requirement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Product Ownership: Work with the Senior Product Manager to develop the product vision, strategy, and roadmaps.

Product development: Work with Dept’s media craft leads to analyse business needs, translate these into system requirements, and create subsequent briefs for UX, UI and Engineering. Oversee the scoping of product features, and ensure they fully align with the business needs, whilst also being clearly laid out for the implementation team to follow. Own the technical proposal pipeline, leveraging short-term gains with long-term business goals to make strategic decisions over prioritisation of functionality.

Technical Expertise: Lead discussions with craft leads from various disciplines on technology - for scoping, validation and risk mitigation. Become an expert in product functionality, and a pioneer of the product to stakeholders internally and externally. Serve as the technical SME.

Product Innovation: Define and manage roadmaps. Leverage emerging technologies. Collaborate with data and engineering on feasibility and execution. Investigate APIs and 3rd parties as part of product functionality (not technical feasibility). Lead conversations with partners for 3rd party integration.

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as one of the primary technical liaisons for internal stakeholders. Build strong stakeholder relationships. Present complex solutions clearly. Partner to identify product capabilities. Consult with media teams.

Operational Excellence: Streamline the proposal process. Support QBRs, RFIs, and internal business requirement collection. Improve operational efficiency. Collaborate on decks to communicate value. Provide insights on product performance and client behavior. Develop metrics to measure success.

AI/ML Focus: Evaluate and optimize potential AI solutions and recommendations. Stay current with AI technologies and identify applications.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

4+ years of product management, product marketing, business development, or technology experience.

Experience working in environments or delivering technical solutions for digital and paid media marketing (end-to-end campaign lifecycle, from strategy to reporting)

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Proven experience in technical product management or a similar role.

Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition.

Experience with AI/ML product management.

Experience with end-to-end marketing technology product delivery.

Strong understanding of digital marketing and technology trends.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Expertise in cloud platform architecture (GCP a plus) and marketing operations is a plus.

Expertise in developing workflow engines is a plus.
