Associate Director, Paid Social

We are currently only hiring in specific location in the United States. Locations, office requirements, and salary bands are outlined below. Please note that we do not offer relocation at this time.
About You
Associate Directors, Social are responsible for independent paid social performance and client management on the most complex, strategic accounts for their team as well as overseeing teams consisting of Associates, Senior Associates and Managers of Social. They serve as the primary POC for their assigned clients by answering client emails, leading weekly calls, and developing and implementing both short and long-term strategies. Associate Directors, Social are also primarily responsible for maintaining client relationships through QBR development, and recurring check-ins with client contacts.
Associate Directors, Social are responsible for truly exemplifying DEPT’s core values and fostering a positive work environment – where they are driving motivation and excitement across teams. They are responsible for the career development of their team members whether they are direct or indirect reports. This includes overseeing training, implementing additional practice exercises as needed, and ensuring goals and rocks are being hit. They are expected to have direct reports who also manage junior employees. Associate Directors must be able to effectively manage Associates and Managers and show a track record of career development for their junior team members, with an emphasis in paid social excellence.
Associate Directors, Social are expected to have an understanding of their individual team members’ hours and how client resourcing should potentially be adjusted if there is an inefficiency. To continue to keep their team open for new business, they should look to expand Ripe Concepts adoption, adjust teams if necessary, or express to their manager the need for an additional hire. They are expected to constantly be looking for ways to creatively open up their team’s senior bandwidth for growth opportunities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining a deep understanding of Facebook/ Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, LinkedIn, UAC, as well as a core understanding of growth services (Programmatic, Decision Sciences, Creative, SEO/CRO), where they fit within the client funnel, and when to leverage/push strategy around each to meet client goals.
- Serving as the day-to-day contact for the largest paid media accounts and a point of escalation on small to midsize accounts.
- Owning, coordinating and ensuring the successful completion of the client’s entire account roadmap (inclusive of growth services), ensuring they are aligned with the client’s goals & priorities.
- Staying up to date on paid social trends and maintaining an understanding of the impact to clients’ business goals.
- Owning the overall media planning strategy of their accounts with the support of their Director and account Client Partners as needed.
- Ensuring appropriate processes & best practices are in place for client management & spearheading implementation when they are not present.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 6 years paid social experience
- A proven track record of successfully managing accounts with varying goals, spend levels, attribution models and incorporating the right agency tools, growth teams, and expertise to build stronger performance and growth
- A deep understanding of Meta ads manager and be skilled at effectively communicating paid social goals, targets, and direct-response tactics to clients and can get into the weeds when necessary.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills: you’ll need to be able to oversee several projects and effectively communicate and teach optimization tasks to multiple team members at once, all while looking for opportunities to streamline account work through automation and developing a QA plan for each client
- History of communication with higher-level client contacts (C-levels for small to medium companies, VPs+ for large companies) to provide agency POVs and build a stronger relationship
Additional things that will impress us:
- The ability to identify upsell opportunities across all agency offerings and execute on those opportunities to grow revenue on existing clients
- You are skilled at effectively communicating/teaching optimization tasks to multiple team members at once and have past experience managing managers
- Successful track record of crafting and participating in sales pitches and audits
- Proven prior work experience managing a P&L and hitting margin targets
- You are comfortable working with 3rd party tracking platforms (e.g., Kenshoo, SA360)
- The ability to quickly determine a need (and argue) for additional marketing channels (e.g., SEO, display, mobile, YouTube) in a given campaign
- Proven prior work experience managing direct reports / team members and demonstrated ability to mentor and develop direct reports into more senior roles
The anticipated salary range for this position is $94,700 - $140,000. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, expertise, physical location, and organizational impact. This is based on a 40-hour workweek and leveling. Keep in mind, we're flexible.
