Senior Editorial Content Marketing Specialist (m/f/div)

Berlin, Cologne

This role is part of our Growth marketing team. We deliver end-to-end data-driven campaigns which foster both creativity and performance. JOB PURPOSE

As a Senior Editorial Content Marketing Specialist, you will focus on driving organic traffic and brand authority through expert-level SEO/GEO editorial content. You’ll develop content strategies for our clients and create high-quality content across a variety of formats – from long-form articles and landing pages to social posts and editorials. You’ll also collaborate with AI tools and cross-functional teams to bring smart, data-driven ideas to life.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Editorial Content Creation: Plan, write, and edit high-quality, long-form editorial content, including articles & blog posts, website landing pages & texts, SEO/GEO content, AI-generated content, social media content (e.g. LinkedIn posts), editorials, tutorials & info texts, expert interviews, captions, thumbnails & descriptions. All content should be optimized for search engines and targeted at specific geographic audiences;
  • SEO/GEO Expertise: You are the subject-matter expert for SEO and GEO-focused content. Conduct in-depth keyword research, optimize content for on-page SEO best practices, and analyze performance data to refine content and strategy;
  • AI Collaboration: Experience working with AI writing and content generation tools. You should be skilled in prompt design and engineering to effectively guide AI in creating content outlines, drafts, and ideas;
  • Content Strategy & Development: Develop and implement data-driven content strategies that align with business objectives. This includes identifying content gaps, analyzing competitor strategies, and leveraging SEO insights to create a robust editorial calendar;
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including SEO, Project and Account Management, to ensure content is integrated and supports broader marketing campaigns;
  • Stakeholder Management: Present content strategies, content concepts and performance results to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and buy-in for editorial initiatives;
  • Tool Proficiency: Expertise with industry tools, including Ahrefs/SEMrush, SurferSEO, Sistrix, and SERP API. Must also be skilled in using ChatGPT/Gemini/OpenAI, AirOps or NotebookLM.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Relevant experience in content marketing and editorial strategy, prefferrably in a digital agency;
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful content marketing strategies that deliver measurable results;
  • Ensure editorial standards, tone of voice, and brand guidelines are met. Review and mentor other content contributors where needed;
  • Collaborate with Social, Paid, and CRM teams to amplify content and maximize reach across channels;
  • Extensive experience with on-page SEO, keyword research, link building, and understanding of search engine algorithms. Experience with GEO-specific targeting is a significant advantage;
  • Ability to interpret data from various analytics tools to inform and refine content strategy;
  • Track, analyze, and report on content performance across SEO and engagement KPIs. Use insights to continuously optimize strategies;
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines;
  • The ability to connect content initiatives to broader business goals and translate complex ideas into clear, engaging content;
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating a range of high-quality editorial content you have created;
  • Being located and directly available to start working in Berlin or Cologne;
  • Full working proficiency in English and German;
