WHY DEPT®?
We are pioneers at heart. What this means, is that we are always leaning forward, thinking of what we can create tomorrow that does not exist today. We were born digital and we are a new model of agency, with a deep skillset in tech and marketing. That’s why we hire curious, self-driven, talented people who never stop innovating.
Our culture is big enough to cope and small enough to care. Meaning, that with people across 20+ countries, we’re big enough to provide you with the best tools, global opportunities, and benefits that help you thrive. While acting small by investing in you, your growth, your team, and giving you the autonomy to solve our clients' problems, no matter where you are in the world.
About You
As a Principal, Data Technology (Mobile), you will be the go-to expert for everything related to mobile data, attribution, and analytics. You’ll help clients make sense of the complex mobile ecosystem — designing clear, future-ready measurement frameworks that ensure data accuracy, privacy compliance, and actionable insight.
You’ll work closely with client stakeholders and developers to connect technical execution with business objectives. You’re not responsible for hands-on implementation, but you’ll guide every step — from SDK configuration to data validation — to make sure what’s built aligns with your specifications.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology and strategy. You understand how mobile data moves, how attribution works, and how privacy changes reshape measurement. You’re a problem-solver who can break down technical complexity, communicate clearly, and ensure clients always know the “why” behind your recommendations.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the primary mobile data and measurement expert for assigned clients, providing clear guidance on best practices for app analytics and attribution.
- Translate client business and marketing objectives into scalable measurement architectures, defining SDK configurations, event schemas, and postback mappings.
- Partner with client engineers and product teams to validate mobile instrumentation and QA releases for data accuracy.
- Advise clients on privacy-first measurement strategies, including ATT, SKAdNetwork, and Google’s Privacy Sandbox.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data integrity, attribution, or SDK-related challenges in partnership with client teams and MMP vendors.
- Evaluate, recommend, and support the integration of mobile adtech and analytics tools (e.g., AppsFlyer, Adjust, Branch, Kochava, Firebase).
- Collaborate with DEPT®’s Web Principal and Business Intelligence teams to ensure cross-platform data consistency and unified reporting frameworks.
- Document architectures, schemas, and decision frameworks in a clear, maintainable format accessible to both engineers and business users.
- Stay ahead of mobile ecosystem and policy changes, proactively advising clients on how to adapt their measurement approach.
- Contribute to internal documentation and playbooks that strengthen DEPT®’s Marketing Technology practice and standardize mobile measurement excellence.
What We’re Looking For
- 5-7 years of experience in AdTech/MarTech, mobile marketing technology, analytics, or data architecture.
- Deep expertise in mobile attribution and measurement, including MMPs (AppsFlyer, Adjust, Branch, Kochava) and app analytics SDKs (Firebase, Amplitude, etc.).
- Strong understanding of data privacy frameworks (ATT, GDPR, CCPA) and their operational implications for mobile apps.
- Ability to read and troubleshoot SDK implementation logic, event payloads, and postback data flows.
- Comfortable collaborating with developers, product managers, and marketers to translate between technical design and business outcomes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills — able to explain technical concepts clearly to both engineering and non-technical audiences.
- Organized and proactive, capable of managing multiple client engagements and workstreams concurrently.
Nice to Have
- Experience with server-side tagging, clean room integrations, or identity frameworks.
- Familiarity with mobile data pipelines or CDPs (e.g mParticle, Segment, Snowplow).
- Exposure to cloud data environments (e.g BigQuery, Snowflake, AWS, or GCP).
- Understanding of mobile ad fraud prevention, app store governance, or consent management tools.
